Deepak is angry with Najib for labelling him as a person without credibility and for failing to address exposés about the PM's alleged links with Altantuya Shaariibuu.
PETALING JAYA: Carpet dealer Deepak Jaikishan today lashed out at Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak for continuously evading questions pertaining to his and his wife Rosmah Mansor’s alleged links with Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.
Deepak was especially peeved with the couple’s silence on his (Deepak’s) accusations that they had forced private investigator P Balasubramaniam to overturn his first statutory declaration (SD) with a second one (SD2) to clear any links between Najib and the dead Mongolian.
“May I suggest that you (Najib) as our ‘sitting PM’ to explain the truth on SD2 to the Malaysian public and not just sit on the PM’s chair like a ‘sitting duck’,” Deepak said today.
“What is most important is that both you and your wife come forward now to specifically reveal the truth to the entire Malaysian public on why she (Rosmah) instructed me (to get Balasubramaniam) to reverse the SD2,” he added.
Deepak was responding to Najib’s remarks yesterday who denied all accusations and labelled Deepak, once a very close associate of his wife, as “not a credible person”.
Najib, speaking on Deepak’s accusations for the first time since the matter broke out in November, told reporters after the Umno Supreme Council meeting late yesterday, that neither he nor his family members were involved in allegedly covering up the murder of Altantuya.
“It’s not true. He is not a credible person,” said Najib, who also added that the matter was not an issue and “won’t effect BN in elections”.
Awful answer from the PM
Deepak said Najib’s response was “an awful answer as a prime minister to give, that too after two months”.
“Were you also sleeping all this while?” he asked.
He said that it was Najib’s response which was not credible, adding that his exposés on the murder was the truth.
He added that Najib must also explain as to why Rosmah had asked him (Deepak) to get involved in getting Balasubramaniam to reverse his damaging SD.
“Najib must also explain as to why he instructed his brother Nazim and the influential Tan Sri lawyer to do the unlawful reversal of the SD in the first place?
“Wasn’t it because Balasubramaniam’s first SD which linked Najib to Altantuya was the truth?”
“I do hope that at least for  the sake of the credibility of the high office of Prime Minister, Najib will for once address this unlawful SD2 matter and speak the truth about his wife and their unlawful involvement in planning this SD2 immediately and not wait for another two months to pass,” said Deepak.
Deepak is also expected to hold a press conference soon to reveal documents confirming the role played by Nazim in the reversal of SD2.
Since November, Deepak had revealed the extent of his close relationship with the prime minister’s family which ranged from getting Balasubramaniam to overturn his statutory declaration to allegedly getting jewelleries for Rosmah, and gaining various contracts from the government, one of which involved a project for the Defence Ministry.
It was the Defence Ministry contract which eventually caused a rift in the close relationship, resulting in Deepak’s exposés so far.
