马华－被巫统拉着鼻子走的政党

马华斗得天翻地覆，演变越来越多新花招。可叹寥中莱，十个爱将被砍。起初他想乘虚夺权，以第三势力出位。谁知没预料翁诗杰耍赖，霸王硬霸位不走，寥中莱奈他如何？

寥中莱刚出任卫生部长时，声称这个部长职位是“地狱部长”。他是用英文的 Minister of Hell 作为 Minister of Health 的谐音。之所以是“地狱部长”，乃因过去每个卫生部长都没有好收场的。这次看来寥中莱的职位冻过冰。马华有必要破除此职位的咒诅，要如何，我没头绪。不过，不防把烫手山芋丢给巫统，卫生部长换给它们去出任。

话说回来，首相要插手马华党争，翁诗杰和蔡细历也没拒绝。这明显马华一路来怕巫统，对它俯首称臣。华社已经忍马华很多年了，所以才会在去年大选忍无可忍下让国阵惨重失利。我想，马华的党争若由巫统来解决的话，马华将付出更惨重的代价。巫统不尊敬国阵其他成员党的独立，处处要在大哥。巫统替马华作主的话，那就摆明马华再对巫统言听计从的另一明证。

称赵明福死于自杀，政府法医捏造证词？

一个国家要进步，需要调整许多作法。向来国家领袖为自己利益多过为人民利益，所以人人都在争权，因为一有权，财源就滚滚来。领袖为了巩固地位，不惜使用政府各机关作为自己的武器。因此，人民对政府机关已经失去信心太久了！

泰国著名法医庞缇在赵明福死因调查庭上的供证令人震惊。她的结论是赵明福或被他杀，这已强烈动摇反贪委员会的可信度。

庞缇（右图）的供证显示赵明福的头盖骨裂痕是由硬物敲击所致及怀疑曾遭人掐着喉咙。

她说赵明福撞上五楼屋顶时仍活着，但已失去意识。根据庞缇医生，赵明福的肛门裂痕是硬物插入所致。

庞缇的发现令前两位法医的诚信受质疑，他们是来自巴生中央医院的凯鲁阿兹南和来自吉隆坡马大医药中心的巴拉山那勒斯。他们都说赵明福死于自杀。

凯鲁和巴拉山是否被逼捏造证词以庇护致死赵明福的官员？或者他们是在压力下供证？

这清楚显示反贪委员会是巫统领导的政府用来恐吓反对党的工具。首相纳吉已清楚指示要巫统夺回雪州政府。在这个过程中一个年轻人因此死亡。


政府庇护施暴者遂国阵政治议程

比庞缇的供证更离奇的是，一封以反贪委员会信头发出的匿名信指责雪州反贪委员会副总监希山慕丁哈欣和前雪州大臣莫哈末基尔多约串谋调查民联议员涉贪事件。

反贪委员会高层和基尔企图抹黑民联议员的诚信以及推翻雪州政府。相反的，庞缇的发现导致公众丧失对反贪委员会的所有信心。

这不是国阵政府第一次漠视扣留所死亡，这个滥权现象一直没有被监督和纠正。古甘之死引起众怒，一个影片曝露了他身上的严重伤痕。他死于警察扣留所，身体上有深刻的伤口和被烧伤的伤痕。

八个月后，仅有一个警员被控。古甘身上的伤痕委实太多，这令人怀疑更多警员涉及。该名警员只是被控严重致伤古甘以逼他认罪，虽然总检察长已把此案列为谋杀处理。

根据去年国会提出的数据，2003年至2007年之间，扣留所死亡共达1535宗。

如果政府继续庇护这些滥权施暴者以遂国阵的政治议程，马来西亚将面对最大的信心危机。

因此，我促请政府马上把涉及盘问赵明福的官员停职。我也促请政府即刻成立皇家调查委员会以独立调查赵明福的死因。

庞缇关于赵明福之死的发现令人难受，我谨此向赵明福的父母、妻子、家属和朋友表达我最深的同情和哀悼。

我国新闻自由排名微升一位止跌，不自由指数不减反增情况未好转

无疆界记者组织（Reporters Without Borders）今日公布《2009年度全球新闻自由指数》，马来西亚排名微升了一个位子，从第132名上升至131名，遏止了自2006年以来的连续4年跌势。

但是，我国新闻不自由的指数，却从39.50提高至44.25，依然被归类为新闻自由“处境艰难”的国家。

这个指数越高，显示有关国家的新闻越不自由。

去年我国的新闻自由排名从124名跌至132名，是全球新闻自由指数自2002年公布以来，所取得的最低排名。

马来西亚在2006年的排名是92，2007年骤降至124名，2008年继续降至132名。

虽然我国今年的排名勉强上升一个位子，但是这个排名在175个国家当中仍然殿后，而且不自由指数也上升，显示国内新闻自由仍然停滞不前。

印柬菲泰皆排在大马之前

新闻自由指数上名列前茅的国家大多是欧洲国家，包括丹麦、瑞典、挪威、芬兰及爱尔兰等。

至于东南亚国家，东帝汶依然名列前茅，以72名排在最前，接下来是印尼（100）、柬埔寨（117）、菲律宾（122）、泰国（130），然后才是马来西亚。

排在马来西亚后面则是有新加坡（133）、汶莱（155）、越南（168）、寮国（169）、与缅甸（171）。


奥巴马效应美国攀升20名

美国与中国则分别排在20和168名

press freedom index 2007全球新闻自由报告点名美国总统奥巴马的当选掀起了奥巴马效应，由于他所采纳的政策不如前任者般鹰派，导致美国的新闻自由排名从40名大幅度攀升了20名。

不过，无疆界记者组织也点出令人感到忧虑的趋势，即被视为自由民主楷模的欧洲国家的排名，有逐年下降的趋势，尤其是法国、意大利及斯洛伐克。

吊销执照和判监威胁记者

今年的全球新闻自由指数报告，只有少部分触及马来西亚。报告批评马来西亚的独裁政权阻止新闻从业员，正常地报道敏感课题，例如贪污或侵犯人权案件。

“在马来西亚，内政部通过威胁撤销媒体的执照，或以监禁威胁新闻从业员，来审查或让媒体进行自我审查。”

发放调查问卷给各国记者

无疆界记者组织是每年透过发放问卷给世界各国的合作组织、新闻从业员、研究员和人权工作者等，调查有关国家的新闻自由状况。

今年的排行榜和指数反映有关国家从2008年9月1日至2009年8月31日的新闻自由状况。

该组织的评估标准包括影响新闻从业员的任何侵权事件，例如谋杀、被判入狱、攻击以及威胁；媒体组织的状况如审查、没收出版物、搜查与骚扰；侵犯新闻自由者是否逍遥法外；媒体是否自我审查，是否能自由展开调查报道与批评；以及媒体所面对的经济压力。

该组织的问卷也评估管理媒体的司法环境，包括媒体犯错所受到的惩罚、国家是否垄断媒体、如何管制媒体，以及媒体的中立性。它还调查了互联网上的资讯是否能够自由流通。

Thai expert says Teoh's death '80%' homicide

And now, the BN government must reveal to the world the whole truth. This shows how the Malaysian forensic pathologists have degraded their professionalism when they submitted to the instruction from the police (actually the higher authority). Malaysia has become a laughing stock again in Teoh's case.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand told the coroner’s court this morning that there was an 80 per cent probability that Teoh Beng Hock’s death was homicide and not suicide, and suggested that some of his injuries were sustained before his fatal fall.

Under questioning from Selangor state lawyer, Malik Imtiaz Sarwar, Dr Pornthip testified that the political aide was indeed alive when he hit the ground but added that he was unconscious, judging from the lack of injuries to his wrists and ankles.

She explained that if he were still conscious when he fell, there would have been “reaction wounds” to show he had instinctively tried to stop from hitting the ground.

She said that Teoh’s injuries showed he could have been strangled and that he sustained anal penetration before he fell to his death on July 16.

Dr Pornthip added that Teoh could have passed out as a result of the strangulation or from the pain from injuries to his anal region.

She told the court that the likelihood that Teoh had committed suicide — the theory previously put forward by the two pathologists who examined Teoh’s body after death — was only 20 per cent.

The stunning testimony made by the forensic expert, who gained international prominence from her work in identifying the 2004 Asian tsunami victims and more recently in the death of Hollywood star David Carradine, appeared to suggest Teoh was assaulted before his death.

Using a graphics presentation, the 54-year-old who has carried out over 10,000 autopsies over the last 27 years, told the court that not all the injuries sustained by Teoh were consistent with those caused by a fall.

The anal tear, which she described as a “penetrating injury”, appeared to have happened before he fell.

Dr Pornthip noted that the tear measured 6cm-wide by 2cm-long.

She rejected the idea that the anus was penetrated by a bone fragment, which had been put forward by local pathologist, Dr Khairul Aznam Ibrahim from the Hospital Tengku Rahimah Ampuan in Klang.

She reasoned that if that had happened, the force would have punctured the area opposite its entry and not as what was shown in the autopsy photos taken.

She suggested that they were caused by an object inserted into Teoh’s anus from a bottom-up direction, which she indicated with a blue arrow on a picture slide projected on a white screen in the darkened courtroom this morning.

“This kind of injury, I’ve not seen in cases of fall from height,” the director-general of Thailand’s Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS) said.

However, she could not say what the object was.

She also said that the depth of the tear was not measured or mentioned in the autopsy report.

Dr Khairul had jointly written the autopsy report with Indian pathologist Dr Prashant Naresh Samberkar who is currently based at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

Several stripes on Teoh’s upper thighs, just below the buttocks were also pointed out as inconsistent with injuries caused by a fall.

Dr Pornthip suggested the horizontal lines were the result of a beating with a stick.

She added that if she had carried out the autopsy on Teoh, she would have cut open the thighs just under the skin to check for internal bleeding in order to confirm her theory.

She also pointed out several “round” bruises on Teoh’s neck, which could mean “manual strangulation” by fingers.

Her lengthy explanation on Teoh’s neck injuries was peppered with graphic references to her own case studies of strangulation victims.

The skull fracture on Teoh’s head, she said, was not typical of an injury from a fall, but more compatible with the result of blunt force applied directly to the skull.

“I found contusion on fracture line, so the fracture could be caused by blunt force injury directly on skull,” she said, explaining why she disagreed with Dr Khairul’s and Dr Prashant’s theory.

The two doctors who performed Teoh’s autopsy had previously put forward the idea that the head injury may have been caused by the momentum of the landing.

“For transfer of force, (you) only find ring fracture at base of the skull along (the) spinal column, not a linear fracture and not a cervical spine fracture,” she added.

She said that her assessment was based on Teoh’s autopsy report, the photographs of his injuries and from snapshots taken at the site where his body was found.

Dr Pornthip who had earlier suggested that Teoh may have been dragged before he plunged to his death told the coroner’s court after lunch break that she no longer held the view.

In her testimony earlier, she had contradicted Dr Prashant’s idea that it was caused by the impact on the ground.

She explained that she had been allowed to view the original pictures of the shoe, which are of a better quality than the copies she had been provided, and confirmed that the marks on the sole were indeed caused by the impact when Teoh landed on the hard and rough ground feet first.

She told the court she would like to carry out her own autopsy on Teoh, but magistrate Azmil Muntapha Abas who is acting as coroner in the inquest, indicated that it may be too late to do so at this stage.

Dr Pornthip had also previously sent two assistants to join the court to survey where Teoh’s body was found on a 5th-floor landing outside the offices of the Selangor branch of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Plaza Masalam here.

Teoh, who was the political secretary to a DAP state executive councillor, had been questioned overnight on July 15 to help an ongoing investigation into claims his boss had misused state funds.

Dr Pornthip was engaged as an expert witness by the Selangor state government.

She had been among the first names suggested to carry out a joint autopsy on Teoh, but was rejected by his family whose reasons remain unknown.

Earlier, she told the court that she had conducted over 10,000 autopsies in her career, of which more than 100 dealt with fatal falls from high places.

She estimated Teoh to have died between 6am and 8am on July 16.

当诺贝尔奖被政治参杂时

奥巴马获得诺贝尔和平奖？我倒满脑子疑问！此时我想起星洲日报媒体集团总编辑萧依钊女士在3月访问文学家李欧梵先生的一些语录，的确相信世人不必再重视什么诺贝尔奖。

萧依钊问：“从诺贝尔文学奖来看，中国有很多文学家会觉得委屈……如果高行健的作品可以拿奖，他们觉得中国有更多优秀的作家可以得奖。你对于这些事情有什么看法？”李欧梵回答：“我根本瞧不起诺贝尔奖，尽管它的名气很大。每次诺贝尔奖揭晓的时候，我都会泼一瓢冷水，劝大家不要那么重视。”

各界对奥巴马获奖褒贬不一，贬，不是不认可他一些功劳，而是为何他做总统不足9个月即蒙认定表现？更不可思议是今届和平奖提名截止日期是2月1日，奥巴马还未坐上两个星期的位呢！

这免不了让人质疑诺贝尔奖近年被参杂了政治的隐喻议程，以奥巴马被提名的情况，不得不使人质疑他一早被安排获奖。当一项国际权威的鉴证组织参杂了政治时，其信誉将逐渐被打折扣。无论是奖赏占米卡特批评伊拉克，或奖赏戈尔推动全球暖化醒觉运动，组织都避免不了涉嫌利用奖项作为一项政治工具来影响美国政治。倘若诺贝尔在天之灵能看到地上的事的话，他肯定感叹受委托者已经乖离了他的原意。

现在挪威支持奥巴马重塑美国，以致它更像欧洲。欧洲社会主义若没有征服美国是不能成功的。如果欧洲有高税制度，而美国保持低征税的话，交易和人才必流去美国。如果欧洲的劳工标准是需要长假期，高利益及禁止裁员，而美国的不是这样的话，雇主会迁移到美国做生意。欧洲晓得这事实，那么奥巴马成为美国总统使到它更加欢迎。

诺贝尔奖颁给奥巴马是为了报答他驯服不受拘束的美国成为欧洲的大家庭。欧洲要倒转美国革命，并要重新殖民它。欧洲看到奥巴马愿意遵行它们指示的心。颁给奥巴马的诺贝尔奖表达欧洲的意愿：就是夺回它那些野心勃勃和傲慢的孩子所创立的国家。

圣经讲到末后将有敌基督出现，他将迫使以色列立和平契约。敌基督将在欧盟崛起，所以现在欧盟想设法控制大哥美国，很明显是控制整个世界的预先步骤。所以，基督徒必须警醒，因为主耶稣回来的日子近了。

毫不留情: 贪污如何影响我们？让我算给你看

可是回教党没向贪污宣战，回教党向啤酒和性感的女人宣战，回教党不明白贪污和贫穷才是真正的敌人，贫穷奴役我们，贪污使我们更加的贫穷。

大部分大马人对本国的贪污程度不作二想，一些人甚至觉得多多益善。你们当中，有谁因为非法泊车，或闯红灯后被开出300令吉罚单时，向警员行贿50令吉或100令吉的呢？

而这里要提醒你，这算便宜的了。在警方的扣留所中，你需要付给警察100令吉，以换取三分钟的本地通话，或是以19令吉获得一根香烟，这些加起来，总共有有 200令吉入袋了。我曾经花了200令吉以获得一夜的『保护』。花了200令吉，我被安置在一个『特别的』扣留室中，在里头，一名因为谋杀而等待上庭的扣留犯保护着我，免得其他人找我麻烦，他甚至丢了一根香烟作为『配套』的一部分。

为了逃过绞刑台，一名毒贩需要付出25万令吉。

我妻子在2001年遭扣留在警局的女子扣留所一夜，当晚我也被捕了。我和一名在毒品交易中第二次被捕的印尼女子交谈。她和他的丈夫首次被捕时，他们必须付出 50万令吉以获得释放，这次他们也在试图安排另一笔50万令吉以逃过第二次的逮捕。可以想象他们在贩卖毒品中赚了多少，最重要的是，可以想象得到每次他们被逮捕时，警察可以获得多少。

我和许多的华人商人朋友谈过，他们承认，如果涉及贿赂的话，做生意会比较容易。通过贿赂政府人员，可节省了许多时间，因为你可以绕过正常要求而让你的申请更快获得批准，当你别无『选择』时，你可以选择行贿。因此，当面对障碍时，行贿其实帮助解决问题——尤其像马来西亚这种第三世界国家，与政府交涉可能是充满『障碍』的。

当贪污对你没有直接影响时，你不怎么会去关系这个问题。就像犯罪一样，只要匪徒不来你家抢东西，同时强奸你的妻女的话，谁管它外头犯罪率有多高？只有在你中招时，你才开始对飙升的犯罪率指天骂地，还怪罪警方办事不力。没有尽力打击罪犯。

那些患上癌症，或被因癌症而受苦的人，或是因癌症痛失亲人的人才会参与防止癌症运动或协会，不是吗？我们当中那些没有面对过癌症的人士会对防止癌症的努力而慷慨解囊的那？各人自扫门前雪，莫管他人瓦上霜，更甚的是，一些人还干出其他事，譬如贪污等等。

可是，贪污的确影响着我们，这和许多人的想法是自相矛盾的，有时它直接影响了我们，大部分时候这是间接的影响。

每天平均有十人死于大马公路。许多人蒙受严重受伤或残废，有时导致了他们再也无法工作谋生。这些事故的主因是，大马人不懂驾驶。

这里，别因为这段话而被混淆了。大马人都持有有效驾照，可是大马人却不懂驾驶。你知道吗？一些欧洲国家可让你使用新加坡驾照在你的东道国驾驶，可是他们不接受大马驾照。大马驾照『不喇古』（tak laku，没价值）。

我认识一个人，目前已经过世了，她在生前持有驾照，可是却连把车子退到路上也办不到。如果不懂退车，她到底是怎样考获她的驾照的？很肯定的，她不会驾车。

是这样的，她告诉我。教车学院有两个配套，一个是『保证过关』配套，意思是说，即使你不懂驾驶，你的驾驶测验将会及格并获得一张执照。另一个配套是，你去考车，及不及格是你家的事。

这个标准配套有个麻烦，尽管你懂得驾驶，他们还是会让你不及格，这是作为你拒绝参加『保证过关』配套的一个『惩罚』。即使你会驾车，为了安全起见以考获驾照，还是付钱算了，更何况你不懂驾车呢？

就这样，每天十个人死在大马路上，他们有驾照，可是他们不懂驾驶。而这些死去的人，可以是你自己、你的家人、同事或好友。简单来说，那名死于公路意外的人可能是你认识的人，或你的情人。

因此，当你因为贪污而失去了你的亲友，或你自身的死亡时，贪污已经影响了你。如果一个人被强迫学习如何正确的驾驶，然后才获得驾照的话，或许他或她今天还活着。过去五十年来，我本身就因为交通意外而失去了几位亲友。有时这是他们自己的失误，令人难过的是，当车祸中，错的一方是他人，而你是那些完全不懂驾车的鲁莽驾驶者轮下的受害人。

我也曾经因为差劲的医疗设备而失去了一些我的挚亲。急救部门缺乏床位和不足的隔离装置导致了粗劣的医疗设施。因为这些关系，这些人必死无疑。

这并非大马没有足够的金钱来改进它的医疗设施，而是把钱花在不该花的地方，而且花得太多了，再加上，每个计划和采购将可捞到油水，于是，医疗设施的改进容后再谈。因为他们的怠慢或延缓资料，结果，我们当中，有许多人失去了亲友和同事。

如果不是因为把钱浪费了，而是花在正确的用途中，其中，医疗和教育是两个最重要的领域，如此，大马将会变得更好。然而，我们的医疗和教育设施低于所谓的先进国结构，可是我们却沾沾自喜。

我们拥有最好的武器，我们拥有梦幻般的桥梁、建筑物和道路，屌！现在我们甚至拥有潜艇。可是当说到医疗和教育设施时，我们却乏善可陈，而医疗和教育却比那些吞咽了国家数以亿计财富，却不能带来收入的白象和纪念碑更重要，白象和纪念碑只是在浪费钱。

在大马，汽车的价格不菲，这也是因为贪污造成的。如果政府允许汽车工业的自由化，汽车的价格将会比现在低很多。可是他们却不允许自由化，他们不能这样做，因为那些当权者的朋党们可以由这些汽车进口准证，以及各式各样的准证中赚大钱。结果，大马人需要付出要比原本价格的双倍来买车，可是他们的薪金却没因此而提高双倍。

最后，你成为你那辆汽车的奴隶，而不是汽车是你的奴隶。你在为你的汽车工作，而不是你的汽车为你工作。而因为令人感到遗憾的公共交通，你别无选择，只好自己拥有一辆车。在许多国家，你无需汽车，可是在这里，你没汽车就动弹不得了。

在把钱花在你的汽车身上，结果，你还剩下什么？很多情况，就因为你的汽车，你没有能力供屋。其实，大马人很穷，生活费如此的高，可是薪水却非常低，而贪污让大马人贫穷。

如果你认为贪污没有影响到你，你实在太迂腐了。它对你的影响有过之而无不及。而只有宁顽不灵的人才会相信贪污没有对他们造成各人的影响，甚至会说，有利于生意。大马人为贪污付出了沉重的代价，最糟的是，我们甚至不觉得我们所付出的代价。

大马人以缴税的形式付出了几十亿（给政府），可是这笔钱大部分没有回馈到我们身上，它被马桶冲走了，几百亿就这样失去了，一些人估计说有三百亿令吉，而这些都是我们的钱。试想想，如果我们我们在只需以每公升三毛钱的价格购买汽油，或是以一块八毛就可买到一包香烟，或以五万元买到一辆本田思域，到时你的口袋不是会剩更多钱吗？今天，我们的钱在每个月的第十天就花完了，接着，你需要再等二十天才有得出糧。

别想存点钱未雨绸缪，这是不可能的，贪污已经取走了我们所有的钱。其实，我国非常富有，我们不该被令缴税，即使需要缴税，税务也应该处于不对我们造成伤害的水平。

过去几十年来，反对党为政府争取最低薪金，可是政府却不同意所建议的最低每月900令吉薪金。

其实，即使是900令吉也是太低了。一些国家，像英国已经宣布最低薪金是每小时35令吉，这是大马人一天的收入，而英国的香烟价格几乎和大马一样。许多其他的事物也是一样，就以汽车而言，它的价格就比大马便宜很多。

不！大马人很穷，你赚得很少，却需要付出更多，同时，贪污取走了你仅剩的。而大马人依然相信贪污不会直接影响他们。

这就是为么我认为回教党没有对准焦点，他们应该注重在主要的课题，而这个课题就是贪污，同时探讨贪污是如何的影响着我们。禁止啤酒或性感的歌星上台演出并不会是大马人获得更好的生活，即使把啤酒和性感歌星都查禁了，大马人还是穷光蛋，我们之因为穷，是因为我们的钱被掠夺了，而我们的低薪和苛税不能让我们过着好日子。

先知默罕默德对『里巴』（riba’ 《卡兰经》中的利息，重利或高利贷）选战，高利贷基本上即是无需自己的努力下赚钱。而，根据什叶派因兰霍先（Imran Hossein）的说法，『里巴』有八十个层次，贪污是其中一种（因为贪污涉及了在不道德的手段下获取金钱，其中没有经过自己的努力）。

可是回教党没向贪污宣战，回教党向啤酒和性感的女人宣战，回教党不明白贪污和贫穷才是真正的敌人，贫穷奴役我们，贪污使我们更加的贫穷。

回教党应该承担先知的斗争，真正的对抗贪污和贫穷，而贫穷是贪污的温床。当你拿到薪水后的一个星期后就把钱花光时，你需要通过贪污来过活。

Evangelist Roberts Liardon Leads London Bible College

Evangelist Roberts Liardon has been named principal of the International Bible Institute of London (IBIOL), the training arm of the charismatic Kensington Temple London City Church.

The school, which began classes Monday, trains Christians to evangelize throughout Europe and around the world.

"Roberts brings an enormous amount of experience in ministry in general and in training in particular," said Colin Dye, founder and president of the school and apostolic overseer of Kensington Temple. "We know Roberts will be a blessing to us, and we hope to be a blessing to him."

The appointment comes nearly eight years after Liardon stepped down from his Embassy Christian Center in Irvine, Calif., after confessing to a short-term homosexual relationship with the church's youth pastor.

Dye said he believes Liardon, 43, has been fully restored to ministry since his December 2001 confession.

"He went far beyond the recommendations set for him by those involved in the initial six-month process of his restoration," Dye said. "After two years of counseling and recovery, he returned to ministry."

The scandal, however, triggered an exodus from Liardon's church and his accredited school, Spirit Life Bible College. Some leaders who left complained that Liardon did not accept initial pastoral counsel from a leader who advised him to step away from the pulpit for one year.

Both organizations closed in 2007, when Liardon relocated his itinerant preaching ministry to Florida.

Dye believes the two ministries will be of mutual benefit. Because Kensington Temple is part of the Elim Pentecostal Churches of Great Britain, Liardon will be subject to its accountability structure as part of the church's staff.

But Dye said Liardon is answering a Macedonian call by moving to London, where he said religious freedom is being stifled as a result of Islam's influence across Europe. In September, a Christian couple who run a hotel in England was arrested for talking to a Muslim about Jesus, he said. Other Christians have been fired for saying "God bless you" or wearing a cross.

"[Liardon's] burden for Europe as a major 21st-century spiritual battleground has been welcomed by European ministers who see his coming as part of the ongoing spiritual partnership between the U.S. and Europe," Dye said.

In a statement, Liardon said IBIOL will emphasize evangelism to prepare students to reach diverse communities with the gospel. "IBIOL is raising up men and women of faith who can stand against these challenges," Liardon said. "We are training them to re-evangelize European nations and to plant new churches. Much of Europe has no effective evangelical witness."

Liardon is the author of God's Generals, a history of Pentecostal pioneers. He has relocated to London, but will continue preaching, writing and leading his international missions ministry.

真警假警一样担心

读了9月30日关于一位导游被三个警察栽赃勒索的新闻，感到不寒而栗。导游停车路边谈电话，碰上警察，结果遭栽赃毒品勒索。这件事情，政府当局不能以特殊个案而掉以轻心。

警察的任务是保护人民，为人民解决某些问题。基于我国治安欠佳，加上警方的贪污问题长期存在，原本人民对他们的形象已经不太好的了。那么如果人民期待抓拿盗贼的警察也盗劫的话，人民的安危岂不更失保障？

当事人导游勇敢公开遭遇，让人民知道真相，日后人民有所警惕。类似的情形可能更多，因为大马人经常都怕惹事，只好暗中承受委屈，不敢投诉。

我们常常读到和听到攫夺和打劫案的事情，导致受伤，死亡和变成植物人的例子不胜枚举。最近的案件是新山的17岁女生被攫夺从电单车摔死，以及太平女生被打劫且险被施暴。《星洲日报》封面显著刊登女生严重受伤照片，它尽社会责任是值得赞赏的，它如此着重乃希望政府关注日益严重的治安问题。

我国人民向来是怕警察的，在遇到警察检查时，大多数人不敢维护个人的权利去要求对方出示证件。或许这样就有人看透大马人的怕警察心理，去冒充警察。向来我们都常听到和读到假警勒索，打劫和强奸的报道。最近有一间商店被爆窃，大批警察徽章失窃，看来不久后假警的案件将进一步恶化。

若说假警当道无奈的话，那么真警勒索打劫岂不更无奈？其实真警察作案也常有。人民遇到警察上前查问时，我们对他们的动作是否感到担心？我们恳求内政部长希山慕丁正视大马皇家警察部队的形象和效率。不然，一旦本来应该保障人民安全的警方却变成不能保障，导致人民不是信任他们而是提防他们的话，大马的国际形象就大打折扣了！

公务员关键表现指数

读了郑博士的“别再为难持红登记老人家”心声（http://opinions.sinchew-i.com/node/11572），非常同情他母亲的遭遇和他家人的痛苦。同一天，《星洲日报》在封面刊登内政部长希山慕丁颁发公民权给92人的新闻。对那92人当然是喜出望外，但详读内容报道，92人乃从3万2千927份申请批准出来的，所以那群数以万计的失败者日后还须感到失落下去的。

为什么会累积了这么多年没有认真调查，好让那些真正合格者获得批准？而延迟申请报生纸的个案更惊人，多达9万3千360份。公民权和报生纸的申请数目，如果加上那些如郑博士所说“发现以前提交的申请没有记录”的数量的话，岂不是更庞大？

这样的苦等，不少人经过了几个首相，多个部长，并不是一件光彩的事情。在收到申请表格后，官员作了什么？把它们全部叠到好像山那么高，然后等申请者来追问结果？

至于找不到文件，并非是国民登记局仅有的问题。几乎所有的政府部门都有这样的问题。那么这是不是时候政府部门该检讨它们处理文件的制度和效率呢？大马官员不要只是常挂在口中说要在2020年踏上先进国的列车，我们必须以行动效法先进国办事的效率和态度。在先进国，申请者呈上的文件都被发收据的。

庆幸首相纳吉委任两个人，许子根和伊德利斯，对部长进行关键表现指数收集资料。我希望他们能够深入部长部门的公务员操作的制度，态度和效率。我也希望首相能够把关键表现指数范围扩展到地方政府部门的公务员。其中一点该检讨的是应该增加华印裔公务员。

Anticancer Crusaders – Broccoli, a good anticancer agent

The order “Eat your broccoli!” was one most of us probably heard growing up. Mom’s explanation always boiled down to the fact that it was simply “good for you.” But now researchers at UCLA have discovered precisely why broccoli (and other cruciferous vegetables) and soy have been linked to preventing certain cancers.

The answer comes in the compound diindolylmethane, created through the digestion of broccoli, and the isoflavone genistein found in soy, both of which combat the replication of two proteins that help spread cancer cells in ovarian and breast tissue. Scientists are also studying the compounds’ effects on 23 other types of cancer.

These two compounds may make preventative and chemotherapy treatments for breast and ovarian cancers more effective, though additional testing is necessary. Encouraging news, for sure, but don’t expect ornery toddlers to start gobbling up broccoli any time soon.

柔州席悬空可不补选乃抹杀民主

读了关于柔佛州议席悬空可不补选的新闻，感到纳闷，难道这就是我国的立法者的素质吗？柔州修宪法通过修宪提案，一旦州议席因突发事故而悬空，除非议长认为足以影响多数党的力量，否则可不必补选。

这样的修宪通过，乃是民主的开倒车，也为其他州属开了不良的先例。柔州国阵执政了52年，为什么越来越怕竞争呢？难道西马的7场补选国阵皆败北而怕输吗？抑或州国阵听到什么风声知道民心思变而失去信心吗？

州议员的工作，不只是为了服务民生而已，所以别以为州议员没有了，该党派代表服务选区就能满足选民。其实，州议员更重要的工作就是代表选民在会议厅传达心声，也针对州的整体问题作决策。若离开下届州选举还远，抹杀选民拥有州议员的权利乃对选民不公平。

我国不是奋力于到2020年踏上先进国的列车吗？但为何州政府掌舵者的思维却很狭隘，一味压缩民主空间呢？所以，我希望从政者要有宏图远见，看到这世界是往开放的路线前进的。从政者若只是为了党的利益而不惜牺牲全民的利益的话，必被民主开放的大洪流冲走。

打破香膏，破除貧窮靈的見證--上帝的大能眷顧順服祂的人

最後的救命錢

某日，聖靈要我們去台東利稻部落(布農族)服事，我們打聽後知道有位弟兄是基督徒，他也願意接待我們，於是我們住在他家，他也按照三餐供應我們的需要。

跟他談話中我們發現他滿臉憂愁，有很深的重擔，他說:我跟銀行借了很多錢，也用信用卡預借現金借很多錢買了許多肥料施肥，可是不知道怎麼回事，茶葉一直都營養不良，又有許多病蟲害，以至於無法收成，也沒錢可以再買肥料施肥，所以古志明的茶葉看起來，樹枝比葉子還多，很像枯萎的樣子.

另外，他也種植了青椒，可是種植的地方太高山了，沒有水源可以灌溉，如果下雨的話，又會土石流，因此當地人都笑他說:你的青椒不能收成啦，種在這裡不是枯死就是被土石流沖走。這位弟兄沒得選擇，因為它只有這塊地可以種，其他的地都是別人的。

銀行不斷的催收帳款，他已經好幾期最低應繳金額都付不出來，銀行說若再不還錢的話就要送法院強制執行，因此這位弟兄只好到處跟親人借錢，好不容易借了一萬元，這是銀行要求至少先還一萬元，否則會很慘。

當我們知道這情況後就為他禱告，並且去青椒園和茶葉園按手在土地和作物上禱告，然後我們2天的服事結束準備離開，忽然聖靈又感動我們去雪見服事，可是我們的錢都用完了，估算一下去雪見的加油錢和食宿費，需要6000元，這怎麼辦呢?正當我們要離開的時候，這位弟兄古志明拿了6000元給我們，他說:神感動我，要我奉獻6000元給你們，我掙扎了一下，最後還是順服神，請你們收下。

唉呀!這錢是救命錢，我們怎麼敢收呢，可是他說我很確定是聖靈的聲音要我奉獻，所以我們就為他祝福禱告後收下這筆救命錢，然後去雪見服事，當我們一上車要離開時，神用很清楚的聲音告訴我們團隊的傳道人說:這位弟兄從此脫離貧窮的軛，哦，感謝主，我們真是歡喜快樂的讚美神，一個月後，當我們再回到這個弟兄家服事時，神蹟發生了。

有個農業專家說這地方的海拔所種植的茶葉，若是水分和肥料充足的話，至少要45天才能收成採茶，沒想到這位弟兄說:從我們離開後到現在,只有28天，他已經收成了3次，而且茶葉快速成長，整個茶園看不到茶枝，只有滿滿的茶葉如同爆炸頭包著茶樹，而且也沒澆水也沒施肥。

至於青椒園呢，只長了約30公分的高度，可是青椒卻結實磊磊，每顆青椒樹至少長了5個青椒，更利害的是，青椒的大小如同人的手肘，又大又肥，這青椒樹看起來根本還在發育階段，還是小Baby，怎能有這麼豐富的結果，我們問他發生什麼事?他說自從我們離開後，每天下午2點到4點會有一片很濃的霧水飄到青椒園和茶園的上面，然後就有很小很細的雨絲降下來，2個小時後霧水就飄走了，每天都是如此。

這是神親自灌溉的，別人的菜園都沒有這種好事，只有我的菜園有這種超自然的神蹟，當天這弟兄採收青椒要賣到市場時，原本前一天，一箱青椒只能賣390元，竟然當天暴漲到一箱800元。忽然間我的腦袋一片空白，我只能說:哦我的神啊，無人能像你，無人能像你，只有你是全能真神，獨行奇事，掌管萬有。

神蹟還沒結束

過了幾個月後他們開始在青椒園的走道中間種植四季豆，當四季豆發芽時青椒居然開始爛掉，而四季豆卻快速成長，我們求問神怎麼回事，這青椒是神所賜福的，為何爛掉?神說:現在青椒的市價開始下跌，會跌落谷底，因此神使青椒爛掉變成四季豆的肥料。當四季豆收成要賣的那一天，從一箱400元漲到1200元。這位弟兄因為順服神，在最艱困的環境中神賜福給他，他的債務快要還清了，他現在也變成部落中最有錢的人。

神是應當稱頌的，因為依靠耶和華的人必不羞愧。感謝神，讓我有這福分，親眼目睹這偉大神蹟，我要說，在這不景氣的日子裡，耶穌是我唯一的靠山，依靠耶和華的人必享大福，是無人能奪去的。

照片就是這位弟兄和他的神蹟茶園，茶園已經採收過了還有這麼多葉子，真是奇妙啊奇妙!

現在這位台東利稻部落古志明弟兄.為了要幫助族人把菜賣掉能先有錢吃飯.所以乾脆就把別人的菜全部買下來，志明再慢慢賣……3000顆高麗菜

菜農也是沒錢買農藥、肥料，所以高山高麗菜也是自然生長的有機菜。


我是古志明，經過這2週的時間，我們全部落的人都經歷到神蹟，這神蹟是你們眾人的愛心所造成的。

感謝主耶穌，我知道依靠耶穌就沒錯，以前不知道要依靠神，吃了很多苦，浪費很多生命，現在我不再靠自己的聰明，我們一家人都決定緊緊的依靠耶穌，因為這才是生存之道，部落的族人也因為看到這麼多的訂單(部落的人從來沒看過這種盛況)，而開始願意每天讀聖經禱告依靠神。願神赐福你們的愛心。謝謝你們大家

每天下午2點到4點會有一片很濃的霧水飄到青椒園和茶園的上面，然後就有很小很細的雨絲降下來，2個小時後霧水就飄走了，每天都是如此，這是神親自灌溉的，別人的菜園都沒有這種好事，只有古志明的菜園有這種超自然的神蹟…………。

民联斗争之路

9月7日《星洲日报》刊登对林吉祥的访问，标题“未完成诺言兼内忧外患，吉祥担心民联前路。”从冗长的版面，我抓到他一些重点，想表达我对民联斗争的看法。

一、吉祥说：“我们必须对在内和在外的挑战有危机感。”危机感不是与生俱来的，而是每个人为了求存来秉持的。换句话说，就是未雨绸缪。今天属于你的东西，今天你享受的日子，你这些美丽的东西不一定永远都这么好的。原因是人心比万物都诡诈，尤其是政治，友友敌敌无法测透。霹雳州的变天就是一例，它唤醒了民联的核心领袖，人民代议士的素质，就这样不堪政敌一击。

二、吉祥说：“每个人都必须提升他们的素质，包括我自己。”308前的50年来大选，在野党不能合作，一些选区出现超过一个在野党竞选，导致国阵拾渔人之利。308大选，三个在野党达成协议，以一对一对垒国阵。原本人才凋零的在野党仓促填满选区，或许因此忽略详细筛选候选人，结果素质不强者竟然被派出师甚至中选。今年春节不久霹州民联三个州议员退党，显明是素质问题。这些人士为了私利，不惜使政局变天。此后还闹出酝酿跳槽风波，谣言不外是这些人乃受到敌派的金钱收买。

关于跳槽，民主大国美国也发生民主党和共和党之间的跳槽事件，主要原因乃是他们不能认同党的理念。不同我国的却是，他们在众议院对议决案投票时是按着良心为国家利益而投的，并不需按着党的利益做的。我国的在朝党在野党接受其他政党党员跳槽，如果强迫党代议士按着党理念在国会和州议会投票的话，永远都欠缺民主，蛙客跳来跳去对国家政体改革没痛痒。近来许多国阵党员跳槽公正党，党魁安华如果处理不好的话，其实是收纳不少国阵失意分子和投机者。为了下届大选不重复民联代议士素质不强问题，民联千万不要随便什么“屎”都拿过来当作宝。

民联还有3年的时间筛选人才，向来在野党连那些非大学水准的人都成为代议士。如今人民的政治意识强了，我们不需要那些只懂得跳进沟渠帮居民挖“金”的代议士了，也不会受到代议士只通过报纸刊登他们如广东话所说“指天笃地”交交账的新闻欺哄的。相信民联在未来3年会增加许多人才，除了候选人须有大专资格外，更重要就是他们须肯为全民的公正公平正义及国家廉洁斗争。

三、关于民联放眼下届大选执政中央问题，吉祥说：“如果国阵的胜利是基于他们本身有落实改革，那局面就不一样。但如果国阵不变，继续贪污腐败但仍可执政，对人民和国家则是一种打击。”我很希望国阵在308事件的挫折中觉悟作出对人民有利的改变。这样朝野必致力于讨好选民而努力，至终缔造两线制政体。

针对万一民联还不能在下届大选执政的话，民联是否还可以多等5年的问题，吉祥避重就轻，看得出他执意要看到民联下届执政。不难明白，目前许多民联领袖都60多70岁了，不执政再斗争5年？到时真的有魄力吗？我也问过支持民联的朋友这个问题是否还继续热衷下去。相信不少人会因此灰心放弃，但也有不少坚决分子表露心声说：“为了我们的下一代，我们只要还有生命气息都会斗争下去的！”

One of the KL Twin Towers were taller by 6 feet on 1st Sep morning. French spiderman Alain Robert has successfully scaled it. He was later arrested by the police and was fined RM2000 by the court.

吉隆坡双锋塔的其中一栋楼在9月1日早上增高了6英尺。法国蜘蛛人艾伦罗拔成功攀上塔顶。他过后被逮捕并被法庭罚款两千令吉。

PETALING JAYA, 1 Sept 2009: Gedung Kartun's publishing permit was approved by the Home Ministry, said the political satire magazine's editor Zulkiflee Anwar Ulhaque, better known as Zunar, today.

Zunar was responding to the ministry's corporate communication unit chief Jamilah Taib's accusation that his company violated the Printing Presses and Publications Act by publishing the inaugural issue of Gedung Kartun without permit.

He said that on 3 Aug 2009, the ministry informed him that the permit had been approved and would be ready for collection on 14 Aug.

"On the said date we went to collect the publication permit at the Home Ministry but were informed that the permit was not ready. I then requested for the permit number so that we could begin production work," Zunar said in a statement.
He added that that the permit number given was PP8541/08/2010(0282145) ISSN 1688-5398.

"I am bemused as to why the publication permit for Gedung Kartun is yet to be issued and [yet] a raid was conducted, and they now want to charge me in court. Isn't it better for them to issue the approved permit as [what] they [had] informed me and solve all matters?" said Zunar.

On 25 Aug, the Home Ministry's Publication Control and Al Quran Text division confiscated 408 copies of the magazine from the Brickfields office of the cartoon magazine's publisher, Sepakat Efektif Sdn Bhd.

The ministry also raided the printing plant and confiscated another 500 copies of Gedung Kartun in Malacca, and 100 copies in Perak the next day.

Zunar said he would request in writing to meet with Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to seek clarification on the issue.

The Centre for Independent Journalism and Writers Alliance for Media Independence have condemned the confiscation, describing it as "a form of harassment against those who publish alternative interpretations of current events".
Additionally, they have urged the ministry to return the confiscated copies to its publisher.

However, Publication Control and Al Quran Text division acting director Zainal Abidin Osman told Malaysiakini on 25 Aug 2009 that publishers are not allowed to publish their material until they have obtained a written permit.

"The written permit is like taking a driving test. Once you pass the exam, you still can't drive until you obtain a license," he was quoted as saying in Malaysiakini.
Gedung Kartun's inaugural issue touched on many current affairs including, among others, the Internal Security Act, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the death of Teoh Beng Hock, and the Port Klang Free Zone scandal.

推出RON 95，RON 97变相起价

马来西亚人刚刚庆祝了52周年国庆日，但紧凑而来的是汽油起价。汽油起价在这个时候，实在有点讽刺性，因为人民在大谈“这就是国阵给的国庆礼物。”

政府推出新的汽油RON 95取代RON 92，每公升1.80令吉。而原本的RON 97 则起价25分至2.05令吉。RON 95被美化形容，让车主转去使用它而感到保持向来付的油价。 推出新产品，把原本的RON 97列为高级（Premium）产品却没有提升品质，就理所当然起它的价？这对许多消费人来说就是变相的起价！

你会舍RON 97 而取RON 95吗？以我的车子为例，它是国产车，厂家规定使用RON 97。那么，政府为了起价RON 97而建议凡要节省的车主转去RON 95吗？难道厂家这样指示，政府现在却又妥协吗？使用RON 97的车子不是不可以使用RON 95，而是车主从划算的角度去衡量。

在性能方面，RON 97肯定比RON 95更佳。品质低一点的汽油肯定产生更多炭的成分。我的车子将不会因着想省钱而转去RON 95的。一旦我的引擎产生更多炭质，隋之就是车子的马力削弱了，那么我就需要更大力地踏油门。请别忘记，因着大量炭质累积，我必须更提前去换润滑油呢！所以，从RON 97 转去RON 95会更省钱吗？可能得不偿失！

必须实施利民政策面对下届大选

对于人民上述的批评，政府不应视为对抗它的政策。政府必须面对人民，尤其离开下届大选只有3年时间，国阵能够以惠民的行动挽回去年308的颓势吗？这3年必须落力实施利民政策。虽然首相纳吉推行一连串的开放政策，但大体上一般市井小民并没有获得利益。未得益却先须承受涨价的压力，巴士德士起价，现在汽油起价，相信一个月后将会陆续看到通膨。

全世界包括我国被H1N1流感冲击，人心惶惶不敢出门不敢旅游，现在到处公共场所冷清清的。在这样经济低迷的情况却一连串起价，真的很难令民心服。人民还是质疑，国油每年收入丰厚，但大马人却不能享受低价汽油，这是一大讽刺。

国油收入应该能够给国库充足，但纳吉出任首相以来，却需要推出一连串的股份和“一个大马基金”等向人民筹资。这般行动，不能阻止人民遐想“到底国库的情况怎么了？”其实如果国油把当归入国库的钱归入的话，首相并不需要这样筹资的。不久前，前首相马哈迪质问几十年来，国油的数以亿万计的钱用到哪里了？马哈迪的这番话，让人看来他好像一个为人打抱不平的英雄。但我却纳闷，为什么他在位的时候不问同样的问题呢？他当时身为一个首相真的不知道国油钱的去向吗？

我相信如果上帝把资源放在哪个国家，他是要全国的人都能够从中得益的。但人性的丑陋，往往整个国家的资源是由一小撮人操纵而自肥，普罗百姓只能够从中得到微不足道的利益。我希望，政府能够使到国油操作更透明化，让它惠及全民。

RON 95 or RON 97?

Do you want to change from Ron 97 to Ron 95?

Ron 97 has gone up by 25c to RM2.05. It shows how incapable the economy was run. The introduction of Ron 95 which sells with RM1.80 was an excuse for Petrol hike. So car owners began to change to Ron 95.

Personally, my car though old, the factory manual has instructed its use of Ron 97, I will not change to Ron 95. Simple logic: it will produce more carbon and eventually it will give me less power. And subsequently I have to press my accelerator harder. And not forgetting I have to change motor oil more frequent too. So at the end of the day I have to fork out with more money.

The minister Ismail Sabri claimed that crude oil soared from US$40 to US$82. So they have to increase the price of Ron 97. What kind of excuse! Ron 97 is now 25c more.I just want to ask: What had the government done when crude oil was floating low around US$40 for some months? Did Malaysians benefit from that? Petronas is making tonnes of dollars. Where has the money gone?

Forget What You Know: Babies Are Way Smarter Than You Think

New studies clearly demonstrate that babies and very young children know, observe, explore, imagine and learn more than we would ever have thought possible. In many significant ways, they are even smarter than adults. I will tell you honestly and quite upfront, this is not the first time I have reported on these sorts of findings. Actually, just a few months back I blogged about how babies, as well as young children, experience the world via an extremely wide spectrum of sensation, as opposed to the miniscule sliver of sentient reality that we adults experience. So why am I treading old ground and covering this subject yet again? Well to draw attention to more elaborate studies by Alison Gopnik, professor of psychology at UC Berkeley, and to remind our adult readers (who may have missed it the first time) what is actually going in the intricate and Byzantine minds of babies everywhere.

As mentioned above, Alison Gopnik, as well as being a psych professor, is also author of the newly published The Philosophical Baby which investigates the exploratory and analytic nature of the young child’s mind. Counter to what was previous assumed, that babies were just blank slates of blooming and buzzing confusion, Gopnik points out that babies have an astonishing capacity for statistical reasoning, experimental discovery and probabilistic logic, which enables them to learn about the myriad of objects and people surrounding them with greater depth and efficiency than previously assumed (I could go into case studies and particular experiments here, but you would be best served reading it first hand rather than slogging through my abbreviated accounts).

The truly notable meaning to gather from all this, is not that we all now need to spend the remainder of our diminishing paychecks on new fangled programs and products that will make our babies even smarter, but we need to encourage babies and toddlers to remain curious and continue to explore their surroundings. At this age, they are not as specifically focused and goal oriented as their eager parents, and the learning they do on their own, when they carefully watch and unexpected outcome and draw new conclusions from say, a set of car keys or a cup of spilled water, is radically different than how adults view and consider learning. Babies (and this is the truly wonderfully subversive part of the whole message) can learn an enormous amount from simple items (bowls, blocks, items from nature, etc) and simple interactions, that have nothing to do with “enriching” educational toys, games, and DVDs.

So, clear the decks, save your money and allow your child to learn, not in the rigid way adults do, but in the experiential way young children need to.

Israeli scientists find way to combat forged DNA

JERUSALEM. Israeli scientists have developed new technology to fight biological identity theft after realising that DNA evidence found at crime scenes can be easily falsified.

The researchers showed that with the use of basic equipment and know-how, anyone can obtain artificial DNA that can be incorporated into genuine human blood or saliva, or directly planted at a crime scene.

"Current forensic procedure fails to distinguish between such samples of blood, saliva and touched surfaces with artificial DNA," the scientists wrote in an article recently published by "Forensic Science International: Genetics," a scientific journal.

Elon Ganor is CEO and co-founder of Nucleix, an Israeli company specialised in DNA analysis that conducted the research. She says it doesn't take much to produce large quantities of artificial DNA.

"You can take a used cup of coffee or a cigarette butt, send it to a laboratory, and for a relatively small sum of money have their DNA identified, produced and sent back to you in a test tube," he told AFP on Wednesday.

The DNA samples, which are produced using a standard technique called whole genome amplification, can then be planted at a crime scene.

Researchers at Nucleix also demonstrated how one could implant DNA into real blood by using a centrifuge to separate red and white blood cells and placing the DNA in the former, giving the blood a new profile.

As part of the experiment, a sample of the modified blood was sent to a laboratory in the United States that works with FBI forensic teams, which failed to catch the forgery, Ganor said.

To combat the practice, Nucleix has developed a DNA authentication method that distinguishes between real and fake samples.

（英國‧倫敦）英國衛生防護局最近以機密信函方式，發函給約600名神經病學家，警告最新的新流感疫苗，可能引發致命神經疾病酖基連巴瑞症候群（Guillain-Barre Syndrome，GBS），要求他們在新疫苗開始施打後，注意這類病患的增加情形。

英國《每日郵報》週日（8月16日）取得機密信件公諸於世，引起民眾譁然，質問當局為何不在疫苗施打前，告知民眾這項訊息。英國預定10月開始讓第一批約1300萬人接種新疫苗。

信函日期為7月29日，它凸顯出英國最高管理當局對新流感疫苗可能產生嚴重併發症的關切。GBS會影響神經內膜，造成癱瘓、呼吸困難。

信函提及1976年美國施打H1N1流感疫苗後，出現的多種情況，包括死於接種疫苗的人多於新流感的死亡病例；總共有500個GBS病例發生等。

DNA Evidence Can Be Fabricated

NEW YORK, Aug 18 — Scientists in Israel have demonstrated that it is possible to fabricate DNA evidence, undermining the credibility of what has been considered the gold standard of proof in criminal cases.

The scientists fabricated blood and saliva samples containing DNA from a person other than the donor of the blood and saliva. They also showed that if they had access to a DNA profile in a database, they could construct a sample of DNA to match that profile without obtaining any tissue from that person.

“You can just engineer a crime scene,” said Dan Frumkin, lead author of the paper, which has been published online by the journal Forensic Science International: Genetics. “Any biology undergraduate could perform this.”

Frumkin is a founder of Nucleix, a company based in Tel Aviv that has developed a test to distinguish real DNA samples from fake ones that it hopes to sell to forensics laboratories.

The planting of fabricated DNA evidence at a crime scene is only one implication of the findings. A potential invasion of personal privacy is another.

Using some of the same techniques, it may be possible to scavenge anyone’s DNA from a discarded drinking cup or cigarette butt and turn it into a saliva sample that could be submitted to a genetic testing company that measures ancestry or the risk of getting various diseases. Celebrities might have to fear “genetic paparazzi,” said Gail H. Javitt of the Genetics and Public Policy Centre at Johns Hopkins University.

Tania Simoncelli, science adviser to the American Civil Liberties Union, said the findings were worrisome.

“DNA is a lot easier to plant at a crime scene than fingerprints,” she said. “We’re creating a criminal justice system that is increasingly relying on this technology.”
John M. Butler, leader of the human identity testing project at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, said he was “impressed at how well they were able to fabricate the fake DNA profiles.” However, he added, “I think your average criminal wouldn’t be able to do something like that.”

The scientists fabricated DNA samples two ways. One required a real, if tiny, DNA sample, perhaps from a strand of hair or drinking cup. They amplified the tiny sample into a large quantity of DNA using a standard technique called whole genome amplification.

Of course, a drinking cup or piece of hair might itself be left at a crime scene to frame someone, but blood or saliva may be more believable.
The authors of the paper took blood from a woman and centrifuged it to remove the white cells, which contain DNA. To the remaining red cells they added DNA that had been amplified from a man’s hair.

Since red cells do not contain DNA, all of the genetic material in the blood sample was from the man. The authors sent it to a leading American forensics laboratory, which analysed it as if it were a normal sample of a man’s blood.
The other technique relied on DNA profiles, stored in law enforcement databases as a series of numbers and letters corresponding to variations at 13 spots in a person’s genome.

From a pooled sample of many people’s DNA, the scientists cloned tiny DNA snippets representing the common variants at each spot, creating a library of such snippets. To prepare a DNA sample matching any profile, they just mixed the proper snippets together. They said that a library of 425 different DNA snippets would be enough to cover every conceivable profile.

Nucleix’s test to tell if a sample has been fabricated relies on the fact that amplified DNA — which would be used in either deception — is not methylated, meaning it lacks certain molecules that are attached to the DNA at specific points, usually to inactivate genes. — NYT

“一日之计在于寅”看大马人健康

《增广贤文》说：“一年之计在于春，一日之计在于寅。”我曾经在《星洲日报》“沟通平台”诠释“一日之计在于寅”说，以前华人祖宗很勤奋，寅时（凌晨3至5点）就起床计划一整天的了，其实不然。

近来海内外华人大热《皇帝内经》课题，我也不落人后去研读。书籍令我举一反三，连贯上述古人智言。我惊讶中国古人对人体的操作拥有浩瀚知识，使人看到从古至今人得到无谓的病痛乃因无知而糟蹋身体所致。

上帝赋予人类十二经脉，也设定各自不同时辰来值班。寅时是肺经值班的时辰，这是决定人一天的时辰，所以是最重要的时辰。《皇帝内经》是以肺经为开始，顺序是：肺、大肠、胃、脾、心、小肠、膀胱、肾、心包、三焦、胆和肝。

寅时是人最熟睡时，肺经之所以最重要乃它在此时辰开始重新分配气血气血，心需要多少，胃需要多少等等。我们的十二经脉需要来正常操作，尤其排毒气脏不能少了气，否则排毒功能就脆弱。

如果说我们的心脏很重要的话，那么肺比它更重要。如果心是君主的话，肺则是心的老师。圣经说当上帝用尘土造了亚当后是个死人，直至上帝将生气吹进他的鼻孔里，气进入肺使它操作，心也跟着操作，他就成为一个有灵的活人。任何疾病若并发而感染肺的话都有性命的危险，譬如目前的H1N1流感很显著，病毒侵袭病患肺脏导致肺炎使之丧命。

肺在寅时重新分配全体气血，所以“一日之计在于寅”真是古人智慧。如果人不能在寅时熟睡的话是很危险的，大多数人猝死是在这时辰，乃因在不能熟睡的情形下，心不能获得充足的气血而爆发心脏病。

人能够熬夜至凌晨一两点，但凌晨3到5点是最难熬的。我越来越担心大马人的“不夜天”生活习惯。在大城市，在半夜12点、1点，仍然有许多车辆奔驰在公路上。24小时营业的餐馆和便利店如雨后春笋冒起，年轻人在凌晨还相约去享受“拉茶”。

这样的大马人生活并不是享受，而是身心灵的重担。我非常羡慕老外，他们做工少少却收入多多。他们做工朝九晚五，晚上大多数的商店都停止营业；而周六和周日则游山玩水去，这才是享受！

凌晨3到5点是人睡得最熟时间，但鼠辈却无耻利用它来造案。大马人除了承受“不夜天”的苦外，基于我国罪案猖獗，许多人都保持一个半睡眠的状态，以提防鼠辈的造访。唉，难怪我国只有少少人口，但有精神问题的人却多达500万！

人的健康取决于其免疫力，你一天有好的气血分配开始的话，该天就有坚毅的免疫力。当你的气脏能够抗御更多病毒，加上排毒功能高的话，真能够达到百病不侵的状况呢！

Satay night with James and Cecilia 与詹斯民和黄芝婷沙爹之夜

James and Cecilia Chiam came to Malaysia from USA for a holiday. They asked me to bring them to Kajang for satay earlier on in the email. I told them that we needed not to travel all the way to Kajang as there are good satays around town.

My family and I felt honored as they looked up on us. They are good Christians who are fervent for the Lord. Cecilia is a renowned writer among the Chinese-speaking folks worldwide. She is a well-sought-after writer by newspaper columns.

On Aug 13 evening, I brought them to Sate Kajang Hj Samuri at 79, Jalan SS21/37, Damansara Utama Uptown. We had a good fellowship though the foods were not really that good.

When satays were prepared in mass production, usually they were done hastily. The better the business, the worse the presentation, e.g. the foods are served cool, sometimes uncooked, as well as juice lost.

I usually enjoyed road-side-satays, though usually I have to wait a bit longer, as the food would be slowly fanned and flipped, and finally served hot from the charcoal stove.

Well, it is true that the best satays are still found in Kajang. It is best simply for the same reason that they are served hot. Next time you see the shops having a big crowd and the workers are doing mass production, please shun the shop.

当沙爹大量地被生产，它们都在仓促的情形下进行。生意越好，呈现就越差，譬如端上的是凉了的食物，有时不熟，及汁消失了。

虽然我须要等更久，但我通常喜欢路边的沙爹，因为食物被慢慢地拨扇和翻转，最后就滚热辣地出炭炉上桌。

不错最好的沙爹仍然在加影找到。它是最好的乃因同样的热辣端上的道理。下回你看到店铺满座，而工人则忙于大量生产的话，请避开该店。

Perception

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning. A man with a violin plays six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx. 2 thousand people passed through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle-aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later:
The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin valued at $3.5 million dollars. Two days before, Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the price of seats averaged $100.

This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities. The questions raised: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this: If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world, playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments ever made... what else are we missing?

从雪州回教党呼吁禁酒课题，给凯里两件事情发挥：一、凯里星期五主办一个讲座抗衡 “行动党的反回教”课题。他声称回教徒被行动党领袖的态度伤害。凯里几时开始那么关心禁酒课题呢？他现在竟然变成反酒英雄呢！二、凯里号召回教党退出民联，因为前者不再获得民联尊重。

他曾经被多家媒体访问，关于308大选成绩，其中讲过“我对国阵感到伤心，但我对于民主和马来西亚人感到高兴。”他真的讲出真心话吗？不，他是一个种族和宗教的极端者。他从英国牛津大学毕业，但没有学到英国人的民主。他倒首相纳吉的“一个马来西亚”的饭碗。

凯里在《星洲日报》的访问，也表示跟华裔要好。不过为何他向回教党拨火，使回教党的党员憎恨非回教徒和非马来人？

当然，凯里关于“行动党污辱回教”的这番话不会归纳为煽动性言论。人们在308大选前看到凯里的宗教和种族极端，即使他大选后很会掩饰，但因为从来不为自己过错醒觉，所以现在终于再显他狰狞本色。

在凯里呼吁回教党退出民联所给的借口上，他说回教党不再获得民联尊重。那么我呼吁回教党去问巫统的其他伙伴党，到底它们获得巫统尊重吗？它们几十年来都受到巫统压迫，哪来尊重？回教党也须再问问巫统的回教徒尊重吉兰丹的回教徒吗？

所以，凯里是最虚伪的政客，一个投机者。这个四楼的前首相军师，是造成308大学国阵失利的罪人之一。所以，奉劝凯里多点关心自己的政途，因为你下届大选能否被派上阵还是未知数呢！

The Healing Power of Pets

A unique American organization, Helping Hands Monkeys, trains monkeys to help paralyzed people function better in their daily lives. Many who are paralyzed spend hours each day by themselves, so the monkeys can be important in helping them get along without professional caregivers as well as a source of companionship. The monkeys bring food and drinks, help feed the paralyzed person, pick things up that are out of reach, put on a CD or video, and turn lights on and off.

While monkeys are exceptional in what they can do, all kinds of pets have a positive, healing effect on their owners. Studies reveal that having a pet is a better remedy against high blood pressure than commonly prescribed medications. A pet appears to be the strongest social indicator in predicting recovery from a serious heart condition. More and more often, doctors prescribe a pet for loneliness, depression, stress and other emotional problems. In the United States, half of all doctors reported they sometimes prescribe a pet to their patients.
Studies show that older people with pets pay considerably fewer visits to the doctor. Up to 16 percent less, according to Professor Judith Siegel of the School of Public Health at the University of California. That percentage is even higher for dog owners, reaching over 20 percent. According to Australian research, the presence of house pets in households saves the Australian government some 800 million to 1.5 billion US dollars a year in health costs.

Psychologists have long realized the healing power of pets. In the 1950s child psychologist Boris Levinson often had difficulty reaching his traumatized patients, until the day that his dog Jingles wandered into the treatment room, His young clients were pleased and spontaneously opened themselves up to the dog, and thus also to Levinson. He was the first to write about “the dog as co-therapist.”
Forty years later, many therapists make grateful use of the intimate bond between humans and animals. People experience pets as non-judgmental and unconditional in their affection, and so clients often consider the animal an ally, which helps foster a spirit of mutual trust and open sharing in therapy sessions. Because animals are often funny or endearing, they help dissipate the tension around a therapy session. Children, in particular, often talk more easily to an animal than a human. Sometimes all the therapist has to do is bring up an issue and then observe where the child and animal take it.

There are countless well-documented examples of successful animal-assisted therapy. A little boy who begins to heal his partially paralyzed hand by petting a dog. Abused children and prisoners who train a dog to learn how to not repeat the abusive behavior they have experienced. Autistic children who learn to communicate through contact with dolphins.

Animals have the potential to play a much greater role, particularly in hospitals and care institutions. A friendly dog can perform miracles with critically ill patients. Even a few fish in a fishbowl helps ease tensions in a dentist’s waiting room. Research has repeatedly shown that taking care of an animal (or even a plant) makes people happier and helps them live longer. Could this be because animals and plants can listen so well without ever contradicting us? A study of Canadian doctors once discovered that listening is the most important ingredient in healing. Dr. Samuel Corson, an expert in the area of animal therapy at Ohio State University puts it this way: “A dog is man’s best friend because he wags his tail and not his tongue.”

美国营养学家为椰油“平反” 纯椰油更健康

椰子树是热带地区常见的树木。从椰肉中提炼出的椰油，是很多热带地区人民经常食用的油脂。在椰油中含有90%的饱和脂肪，而摄取饱和脂肪含量高的食物是导致高胆固醇和心脏病的主要原因之一，因此一般人认为多吃椰油有损健康。

但是美国椰子研究中心主席、营养学家兼自然疗法医生布鲁斯·费佛最近表示，这种看法是不正确的。他说，刚开始他也以为椰油对健康有害，但在研究了大量文献资料之后发现，未经加工的纯椰油实际上比一般食用油更健康。

他解释说，饱和脂肪有很多种，而椰油中的饱和脂肪是可以预防心脏病的一种。在研究世界各国人民的饮食习惯和健康状况时，不难发现，饮食中常有椰子或椰油成分的民族是世界上心脏病患病率最低的。

费佛指出，各类脂肪中有98%属于长链脂肪酸，但纯椰油却是中链脂肪酸。因为中链脂肪酸的分子结构比长链脂肪酸的生物分子短，因此椰油比较容易被肠胃分解和消化，促进新陈代谢。长链脂肪酸能够通过肠胃壁被血液吸收，成为低密度胆固醇或称“坏胆固醇”，而椰油则不会这样。因此，椰油不会造成血管栓塞，也就不会导致心脏病。

费佛的临床经验表明，纯椰油对一些病人恢复健康有着一定的帮助，而这样的效果不只出现在心脏病病人身上，糖尿病、皮肤病等病人也同样受益。他举例说：“糖尿病患者体内的细胞会因为胰岛素不平衡而无法摄取所需的营养。除了椰油以外，所有其他油脂都要有一定的胰岛素存在才能把能量传到细胞里，使之继续存活。因此，椰油可以避免糖尿病人的健康进一步恶化。”

费佛的实践结果还发现，椰油不仅可用于防治心脏病和其他心血管疾病，还可以用于防治流行性感冒，阻止胆囊感染，消除持续性疲倦和缓解痔疮。还有资料显示，椰油可以防治消化道溃疡，减缓前列腺增生，治疗皮肤病，抑制丙型肝炎甚至癌症和艾滋病等。

49th Anniversary of ISA 内安法令49周年

Today 1st of Aug is the 49th Anniversary of Internal Security Act. The Abolish ISA Movement (GMI) called for a march from various meeting points in Kuala Lumpur to the National Palace. And a memorandum will be handed over to the King.

Many roads leading to KL city were set up with road blocks. And roads were closed too. Most of the crowd resorted to public transport. They walked by detours just by avoiding the police. Such a spirit in walking long distances has indeed conveyed a message to the Federal Authorities.

The crowd came to a figure of 20,000. The police prevented the people from moving forward. At 4.00 p.m they rounded up the people at Sogo Mall and Masjid Jamek LRT Station and firing tear gas and shooting chemical-laced water canons. Even when the people fleed into the nearby buildings, the canons were shot into the compounds. In fact, earlier there have been several rounds of firing the tear gas. By 6.00 p.m 438 people were arrested.

Najib the Prime Minister said the rally was unnecessary as the people could have given their opinions for a review of the Act. The problem is, people wanted an abolishment and not a review of the Act. No matter how you amend the Act, it is still an Act. It is likened to "changing the soup but not the medicine".

Locking up people without trial is against human rights. If the government thinks a particular person has committed a crime, why can't it proves itself right by bringing him or her to court?

Nazri, Minister in the PM's department, said that as long as BN is in power, ISA would not be abolished. Such a statement is not surprising as BN has been abusing its power all the while. I believed that a good government should always listen to the people.

许多通往吉隆坡的路都有警察路障。许多路也被封锁了。许多人选择使用公共交通工具。他们绕道而行乃为了避开警察。如此行走长路途的精神真的是向联邦权势传达一个信息。

人群有2万。警方阻止了人群前进。在下午4时，警方包围Sogo广场和Jamek 回教堂高架轻快铁车站，并大肆发射摧泪弹和喷击加入了化学药的水炮。甚至人群逃入附近的建筑物，还把水炮喷击入里头。其实较早前已经发射几轮水炮了。至傍晚6时有438人被逮捕。

首相纳吉说集会根本是不需要的，人民大可提出意见以检讨法令。问题是，人民要的是法令的一个废除，而不是一个检讨。无论你怎样修改法令，它仍然是一个法令。它就好比换汤不换药。

没有提审一个人就把关起来乃违反人权。如果政府认为某人犯了罪的话，为何它不能藉着带他或她上法庭以证明它自己是对的？

首相暑部长纳兹里说只要国阵还执政，内安法令就不会被废除。这番话并并令人感到惊讶，因为一路来它滥用了它的权柄。我相信一个好的政府应该时常听人民。

The Heart of August

After many days of reflection on the late BH Teoh’s incident. I finally come to my own words to describe what was transpiring.

Just one word:-Aselgeia.

Aselgeia in Greek denotes "excess, licentiousness, absence of restraint, indecency, wantonness and lasciviousness.

This indicates a love of sin so reckless and so audacious that a man has ceased to care what God or man thinks of his actions, which contain the idea of shamelessness, outrageousness.

[It simply denotes wrong doing so open and so blatant that it has ceased to have any regard for what anyone may think or feel or say. \

The characteristics of 'aselgeia.' have wanton and undisciplined action. It is the action of a man who is at the mercy of his passions and his impulses and his emotions, and in whom the voice of calm reason has been silenced by the storms of self will.

It has respect neither for the persons nor the rights of anyone else. It is violent, insolvent, abusive, and audacious. Any thought and sympathy for the feelings of others has ceased to exist.

大马人有很多查案专家

若我说大马人有很多查案专家，并不是夸口的。赵明福离奇坠楼事件，警方查案怠慢。到底为何怠慢，你知我知他们知。

这些日子以来，许多人提出了蛮多的疑问。许多人又质问为什么警方不这样这样作。

为什么我们都很有专家的本领？答案就是我们有许多的真实罪案被录制成的电影，感谢ASTRO。我们不是看到许多美国的罪案重演平吗？什么 FBI （联邦调查局）啦！Crime Watch （罪案监察）啦！CSI （罪案现场调查）啦！

所以，大马人不再是傻瓜，今天他们的智商能够举一反三的。因此警方和反贪委会办案，就好别让人感到人民比它们更精明。真正情况乃是，它们选择性地办案，精明不精明是看对国阵利不利。它们最好不要成为国际的笑柄，说大马有先进国的设备，却有第三国的查案水准。

如果我国警方和反贪机制不能让国人有信心的话，外国人多它们更没有信心。那么外资就会考虑在大马投资有多大保障？所以希望首相纳吉在大力作开放政策搞好经济的当儿，必须考虑这两个机制的公信力，让外资放心前来。

皇家委会只查盘问程序不查死因，赵明福家属：我们全家不能接受

首相纳吉昨天针对赵明福命案的三项应对政策，让赵家先喜后忧；如今他们坚持政府应该设立一个皇家委员会，全权和全面地调查赵明福的离奇坠楼命案。

“这不是我们家属想要的，我们要的是一个全面的皇家调查委员会，以调查为什么明福会死在反贪污委员会总部。”

根据中文报章网站报导，赵家希望近期内能在行动党国会领袖林吉祥的带领下，会晤首相纳吉，表达他们这项立场。

赵明福妹妹赵丽兰，尽管看起来一连疲态，但她今天仍在马六甲亚罗亚也代表家属向媒体宣布上述的看法。

以下是赵家声明全文：

“对于首相昨天宣布的内阁决定，我们起初听到会成立皇家委员会，感到很欢迎，但是，现在我们知道了整个内容，我们很失望没调查明福的死因。这不是我们家属要的，我们要的是，全面的皇家委员会。

为什么明福会死在MACC总部，我们全家不能接受内阁的决定，只是成立皇委会调查MACC的盘问程序。

我代表家人，要求首相及内阁改变决定，来设立一个全面的皇家委员会，特别是来查出明福的死因。

吉祥向赵家说明皇委会实情

今天较早时间，林吉祥走访赵家，同时跟他们讨论首相昨天所宣布的皇家调查委员会事宜。

欧阳捍华的政治秘书赵明福在雪州反贪会办公大楼坠楼身亡，引起民间一片哗然。基于强大的舆论压力，首相纳吉昨天（22日）宣布设立一个由推事主持的验尸庭，以便鉴定赵明福的死因。

此外，首相也宣布成立一个具有特定权限的皇家委员会，探讨反贪污委员会所采用的盘问手法，并且鉴定反贪会在盘问赵明福的过程中是否侵犯人权。他同时也指示内政部与警方尽速完成调查，并且公布调查报告。

赵丽兰：知实情后大失所望

赵丽兰（左图右）表示，甫听到政府成立皇委会的消息，他们家人都很高兴和欢迎；但是当他们了解该皇委会不会针对赵明福死因进行调查后，就不禁大失所望。

“我代表我的家人，要求首相及内阁改变决定，以设立一个全面的皇家调查委员会，特别要查出明福的死因。”

她指出，他们无法接受一个仅止调查反贪会盘问过程是否违反人权的皇家调查委员会。

批纳兹里验DNA说法污蔑清白

针对首相署部长纳兹里昨天要求赵明福遗腹子检验DNA以验证生父身份的说法，赵丽兰批评纳兹里出言辱人，污蔑其哥哥赵明福和其未婚妻苏淑慧的清白。

《中国报》报导，她强调，苏淑慧所怀的孩子事实上就是出自赵明福。

“他这话已污辱了我的哥哥（明福）和嫂嫂（苏淑慧），他们都已是准备结婚的了。”

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Yesterday Pastor Henry Yap and I attended the funeral service of Teoh Beng Hock at the Nirvana Memorial Park in Semenyih. The photos attached were captured by me at the scene. We were glad that we met another Pastor there. So we were relieved that we were not alone! Teoh was the political secretary to Opposition Party DAP’s Member of Parliament Ean Yong Hian Wah.

On 15th July officers from Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) led Teoh back to their office for investigation. The next day Teoh was found sprawling on the 5th floor dead at Mazalam Building where MACC was located at the 14th floors. Teoh mysteriously fell from an upper floor.

Teoh bore the ordeal of a long night wait and the officer quizzed him from 1.00 a.m. to 3.45 a.m. Teoh was last seen loitering at MACC waiting lounge by his friend Tan Boon Wah who was also a witness. Later in the afternoon he was found dead. Since Teoh’s death, there were lots of unsolved questions that had cast doubts in people’s minds.

For the past month MACC has launched an intensive haul on the Lawmakers of Selangor Pakatan Rakyat. PR is the ruling coalition on the state level. The way MACC deliberately picked on PR is obviously politically motivated. Whereas any reports against the Federal coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) were dealt with snail-paced response.

Teoh was just an ordinary witness. Therefore, blasting him with such an inhumane mentor torture was an abuse of power. I thought such an act is only seen in a Dictator’s Regime? The MACC was a reformed institution formed hurriedly by former Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi before he stepped down. Prior to this we have the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA). Abdullah wanted the MACC to be the same standard as Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). Unfortunately by the way how MACC performed as a tool for the Federal Government’s political agenda, I would say that the institution was an utter failure!

As for the Royal Police Force, many Malaysians have long lost confidence in the institution. They acted in favor of BN. In Teoh’s case they were slow to investigate. They first classified it as “an accident” instead of “murder”. They ruled out foul-play. After much pressure from the public, then only they softened their stand a bit, and admitted that they don’t rule out foul-play. They should have cordoned off the entire MACC units at first-timing. Their slow actions have allowed the culprits to tamper with traces of evidence, and at the same time the culprits would have time to connect with each other to fabricate false testimonies.

Teoh was not related to Henry and me in any way. We attended his funeral because besides giving the family a moral support, we were doing it for a cause – letting the public know that we Christians care about justice in Malaysia.

I think Churches and Christian Institutions could have done better in matters of care and concern. Like Teoh’s case we could have done better, but our voice was quite silent! No, we don’t need to wait for a disaster like a flood, or a tsunami, or an earthquake before we rise up to help. Injustice in itself is a disaster! Malaysia has 10% or 2.7 million Christians (including the Roman Catholics). Most of the Christians are Chinese, follow by the Indians. In other words, two-thirds or 4 million more Chinese are still unsaved.

One of the reasons why the Chinese rejected Christianity is because they thought that Christians showed no interest in their social beliefs and encounters. Often times we Christians feel that it is so unholy to participate in the non-believers’ activities. And subsequently we lose touch with them because we are not interested to share their happiness and grievances. In matter like fighting for justice and a fairer society, the struggle is all left to the non-believers. Where are the Christians then? Wasn’t Jesus a fighter for justice? See how Jesus condemned the rotten governor Herod as a “fox”? In fighting for justice, Christians are so kiasi (afraid to die). Today there are Pastors who still discouraged their members from going into politics. There is no such thing as a corrupt nation on earth. A country is corrupt because on leadership, good people let it and bad people grabbed it.

I think Denomination Councils and Christian Institutions which represent different groups could consider setting up funds and play supportive roles in causes that would affect the fate of the country. Christians must prove themselves that they are not isolated from the communities. We should be compassionate in their ordeals and take a proactive role to reach out to them, irrespective of races.

祷告勇士们：

昨日我和叶挺隆牧师到士毛月富贵山庄出席赵明福的葬礼。附上的照片是我在现场拍摄的。我们高兴在那里遇到另一位牧师。所以我们感到松懈说我们并不寂寞！赵明福是在野阵线行动党国会议员欧阳捍华的政治秘书。

7月15日，反贪委员会的官员把明福带返办公室调查。隔日明福被发现卧尸在玛沙兰大厦第5层楼，而反贪委会办公室就在第14层楼。明福乃离奇从高处坠落。

明福承受长夜等候的煎熬，官员在凌晨1时才开始盘诘他直至凌晨3时3刻。明福最后被他的朋友陈文华看见在等候室是在清晨6时，后者也是被盘诘者。当天下午他即被发现死亡。自从明福死讯以来，有许多未解答问题使到人民充满疑问。

过去一个月，反贪委会大肆调查雪州民联的州立法议员，民联是雪州的执政政府。反贪委会故意挑剔民联乃明显出于政治激发的。而任何针对联邦阵线国阵的举报都以慢条斯理对待。

明福只是一个普通证人。所以，用这样的不人道精神折磨轰炸他乃一种滥权。我以为这样的作法只在一个独裁的政权才看到的？反贪委会是一个改革的机制，由前首相阿都拉在下台前仓促地设立的。它的前身是反贪局。阿都拉想反贪委会能够有好像香港的廉政公署一样的水准。不幸的，从反贪委会执行作联邦政府议程的工具形式看来，我可说该机制是一个全然的失败。

至于皇家警察部队，许多马来西亚人早已对此机制失去信心。他们作有利于国阵的行动。在明福的案件，他们缓慢行动。他们起初把它列为“一件意外案”来调查，而不是“谋杀案”。他们排除他杀。经过公众的压力后，他们才软化立场些少，承认他们不排除他杀的成分。他们应该第一时间封锁整个反贪委会办公楼。他们怠慢的行动使到凶手能够篡改证据痕迹，同时涉及者也有时间联系以串通伪造证词。

明福跟我和叶牧师没什么关系。我们出席葬礼，除了给丧家精神支持外，我们是为了一个目标而做－让公众知道说我们基督徒关心在马来西亚的正义。

我认为教会和基督教组织在照料和关心的事情上应该可以作得更好。诸如明福事件，我们可以作得更好，但我们的声音太沉寂了！不，我们不必等待一场灾难如一场水灾，或一场海啸，或一场地震，我们才起来帮助。不公义本身就是一场灾难！马来西亚有10％或270万基督徒（包括天主教徒）。华裔占了大多数，其次是印裔。换句话说，我们还有三分之二或400万华裔仍然还未得救。

华裔拒绝基督教的其一原因乃是以为基督徒对他们的社交信仰和遭遇不感兴趣。许多时候我们基督徒感到参与非信徒的活动是何等的不圣洁。结果我们失去与他们的联系，因为我们没有兴趣于分担他们的快乐和委屈。在争取正义和一个更公平的事情上，奋斗全部留给非信徒去办。那么基督徒在哪里呢？耶稣不是一位为正义的斗争者吗？看看耶稣不是叫那腐败的希律王“狐狸”吗？在为正义斗争，基督徒是何等的怕死。今日有牧师仍然不鼓励他们的会友参政。在世上并没有一个所谓的腐败国家。一个国家之所以腐败，在领导上，乃是因为好人放弃它，而坏人抢夺它。

我认为代表不同团体的宗派总会和基督教组织，在能够影响国家命运的目标上，可以考虑设立基金及扮演支持角色。基督徒必须证明自己他们不是与社群隔离的。我们必须不分种族地对他们痛苦的经验是富于同情心的，并拿起前摄的角色向他们伸出手。

即使皇家委员会报告也不要太乐观

赵明福不明的死，首相纳吉将在三个选择中作决定：1、以警方调查结果为真相。2、成立独立调查委员会。3、成立皇家调查委员会。即使纳吉是选择第三项，得到的结果，百姓能够期待有什么对付行动吗？从过去一连串的皇家委员会的报告经验，希望大家不要太乐观，因为大家可能就会失望。

国阵几十年来就是这样，报告出炉后在国会跟在野党吵吵，然后就把整件事情当作若无其事的。

我国从来没有责任文化的，没有人会引咎辞职的。纳吉如果要巩固他的地位的话，若报告证实是反贪委会滥权，就应该炒该主席和涉及者鱿鱼，并且把他们控上法庭。

百姓已经对政府的主要机关失去信心了，包括警方，司法、反贪委会。纳吉若要赢取人民的信心，不是专靠派糖果政策。这样的政策已经过时了，因为百姓已经会想了，他们不会永远被政府派吃买心而满足的。有得吃但活在败坏风气环境里，你永远不快乐。但有正义，自然大家就丰衣足食。

悼赵明福

赵明福，一个对缔造民主的马来西亚充满抱负的大好青年，被雪州反贪委员会官员带走调查，却一去永远不能回头！

赵明福在沙亚南反贪委会楼层离奇坠楼死，反贪委会必须给全国人民一个交代。国人哀悼赵明福的当儿，也声讨一个乖离正轨的反贪机制。

赵明福是《星洲日报》前记者，《星洲日报》办报理念是维护国家的正义，在一片诸多报道限制的环境下尽力争取新闻自由，报社员工包括赵明福乃值得嘉许的。赵明福离开报馆参政，担任欧阳捍华政治秘书，显示他为国家前途的斗争满怀大志。

反贪委会查案方式，已经有许多个案让人民感到它并不公正。它对于民联的州属和议员，效率特别好，在没人举报的情况下自发调查。而对于国阵的州属和议员，则采用不必迅速或没有行动的处理方式。

反贪委会的盘诘方式，也必须尊重人权。人们不能理解为什么要选择在凌晨时间盘诘？晚上人们有权利休息。赵明福就是被带到办公室后，整晚让他呆在那里苦守至凌晨1时才开始盘诘直到凌晨3时多。这跟那些封闭国家故意不让人睡觉通宵盘诘，导致那些人精神崩溃，有什么分别？不可思议的是，赵明福只不过是一个政治秘书，奉命行事，何须这么高档地扣留盘诘，好像当他是什么大罪犯的？

前首相阿都拉希望设立一个跟香港廉政公署那样水准的反贪机制，看来他整顿反贪局后，这机制已经失败。我国的反贪委会明显并不独立操作，那么我国要打击贪污只论为空谈。

别忘记大马在世界廉洁指数排名低落得令国人不光彩，如果首相纳吉正在大力开放我国市场，却不能提升廉洁指数的话，外资还是对我国诸多犹疑不前的。

赵明福的死，已经让国人愤怒，如果政府和警方不透明化把真相揭露的话，将会打击纳吉百多天所建立的支持率。目前局势对民联有利，它们现在可以发动一个改革反贪委会的行动，以博得人民的支持。这行动将胜过国阵一筹，因为到目前为止，纳吉并没有承诺肃贪，国阵更不会放弃利用反贪委会的。

半桶水的国英文教学

在马哈迪时代，他为了搞马来人主义，其一行动是废除英文学校制，一概实行马来文制。现在他大谈后悔那件行动！6年前他提出中小学英文教数理，所以可说他当时才看到英文在国际的重要性。

6年前老马的政策是一人的决定，这是副首相慕尤丁爆料的。他说6年前这政策落实乃未请准内阁的（参阅7月13日《星洲日报》第4页）。可见一个首相权力能够一手遮天乃国家的悲哀，他的独裁只证明国阵是由巫统控制的。巫统和它的成员党不是盟友和盟友之间的伙伴关系，而是老板和雇工之间的关系，后者对前者言听计从。

难怪华裔越来越不认同马华代表华裔，印裔也不认同国大党代表印裔了！6年前虽然马哈迪一人的决定强行推行该政策，马华和国大党为什么不在内阁里面提出辩论呢？马华和国大党领袖不要狡辩说他们曾经提出异议，因为慕尤丁上述言论已经说明他们没有。

马哈迪既然看到英文在国际的重要性，但6年前以他的一人当道大权，为什么不索性宣布恢复英文学校制呢？若不能一下全国实行也可在一些城镇从小数目开始呀！其实老马心里很矛盾，一方面他认为英文重要，但另一方面又要维护马来人主义。结果搞出一个国英文半桶水的教学来！6年前仓促实行英文教数理，但精通英文的老师寥寥无几，数理老师以半桶水的英语教学，学生的成绩当然半桶水啦！

现在老马反对废除英文取马来人教数理政策，认为起码在中学维持这两科的英文教学。他发动在部落格民调，有多达85％支持中学以英文教数理。老马当年废除英文学校制，导致马来西亚在国际竞争力被削弱。不是吗？一个从我国脱离出去的新加坡，在世界地图只是弹丸小国，却早已经成为先进国了，我们呢？我国的教育制度半咸半淡，并且朝令夕改，加上强调单一民族主义，不惜牺牲他族人才，那么怎样跟别人竞争？

现在可笑的是，两个巨头，马华的翁诗杰和民政的许子根，都声称中四应该以英文教数理。我说可笑，乃是难道他们在内阁里面作决定时没有想到这点吗？抑或他们根本在国阵的声音没有分量？现在华裔和印裔家长都认为中学应该以英文教学，为什么内阁不先作个民调才来作决定？慕尤丁已经声明内阁的决定已经是最后的，那么如果内阁再改决定，慕尤丁的诚信就被打折扣了。

如果内阁不改为中学用英文教数理，担心的家长怎么办？那么，再穷也要送孩子去国际学校读书好了。我国的教育水准实在令人失去信心，不是吗？请看看国家的领袖，他们对自己国家的教育制度有信心吗？他们的孩子在哪里读书的？不是国际学校就是在外国！

怎样选择好西瓜？

Michael Jackson's Memorial Service

Dear friends:

It was not my plan to watch Michael Jackson's star-studded memorial service in the Los Angeles Staples Center on TV this afternoon, but at the beginning I was glancing at the television and suddenly got hooked....

God was using the service, broadcast to many millions, maybe billions, worldwide, to announce the soon return of Jesus!!! No joke!

How did He do it? The opening song was by the Andrae Crouch Choir singing Andrae's classic, "Soon and very soon, we are going to see the King..." I could hardly believe it. Knowing that this timely message went out all over the world, I was very, very moved. That has always been one of my all-time favorite songs and messages.

Okay, I was hooked.

Then the opening address was by Los Angeles Baptist Pastor Lucious Smith -- not by a Jehovah's Witness and not by a Muslim cleric. He also got my attention.

Then I heard Lionel Ritchie sing, "Jesus is Love."

One speaker said that the King of Pop is now in the presence of the King of Kings, whom everyone knows as none other than Jesus.

Bernice King, daughter of the late Martin Luther King, quoted the Scripture that "nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Not one time did I hear mention of the words Allah, Mohammed, Islam or Muslim, or Jehovah's Witness. To my surprise and delight, it was essentially a Christian service.

Personally, I think Michael Jackson was duped into embracing Islam, as was reported. He knew nothing about theology, and they probably told him that Muslims believe in Jesus. They do, but not the same Jesus. It is deception. It was reported to me that one time on television Jackson confessed to Geraldo Rivera that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. If he did, I doubt if he ever took it back

Overall, it was a very inspiring service. There were times when I wept. I believe God was pleased. He was surely glorified. There were many reminders to the worldwide audience that our time on earth is short and we must be ready for the next life, and the answer pointed to Jesus.

The "We are the World" song smacked of one-world brotherhood, but Jesus would endorse the idea of loving and caring for all people, as long as He is the focus.

Pastor Smith ended the service with a powerful benediction and prayer to the Father, and closed it with the thundering words, "In the glorious name of Jesus Christ our Lord!" It gave me goose bumps.

神奇的椰子水: 痛風患者的救星

對於治療中西醫束手無策的痛風，椰子有著令人無法想像的神奇的療效，只要早晚飲用一顆新鮮椰子水，即使痛風情況嚴重到骨關節變形，依然可以康復。

國人尿酸過高的情形日趨嚴重，而尿酸過高的患者極有會發展成痛風。高尿酸的形成主要原因有二：一、尿酸產生過多；二、尿酸排泄減少。許多患者只有血清尿酸鹽濃度的增高而沒有臨床症狀，只有在發生關節炎時才稱?痛風。痛風的病理基礎是高尿酸血症，正常人血尿酸值是男性2.4 -7m g/dL，女性1.6 -5.2m g/dL。

中西醫均會要求痛風患者不可以攝取高普林食物，然而這些食物可以說是最起碼的美食，要痛風病患完全不吃這些食物，說真的，這種治療的犧牲代價還不小呢！

高普林的禁忌食物包括有：雞、鴨、鵝、豬等內臟，以及魚、黃豆、發芽豆類、含酵母的飲料如養樂多、啤酒、豆苗、黃豆芽、蘆筍、紫菜、香菇雞肉汁、濃肉湯、牛肉汁、雞精、酵母粉、健素糖等等。

特別介紹椰子食療法，患者只要每天飲用一至三粒新鮮椰子水，一至兩個小時痛風就不再疼痛，連續飲用二至三個月，症狀即可消除。

許多人會耽心椰子會不會太涼？其實這是多慮了，因為患有痛風的人，本身體質會偏燥，高普林會不斷累積，椰子水正好可以清洗積存的痛風石，這是西藥很難做到的。

中風保住老命

患了中風，腦部的微血管，
會慢慢的破裂，遇到這種情形，千萬別慌，

患者無論在什麼地方(不管是浴室、臥房或客廳），
千萬不可搬動他。
因為，如果移動，會加速微血管的破裂。

所以要先原地把患者扶起坐穩以防止再摔倒，這時才開始（放血）。

經一路的顛跛震動恐怕還沒到醫院，他腦部微血管
差不多已經都破裂了。萬一能夠吉人天相，保全老命，
能像孫院長，容得勉強行動，那得要靠祖上的庇蔭了。
放血救命法，是住在新竹的中醫師夏伯挺先生說的。
且是經自己親身實驗，敢說百分之百有效。

大概是民國六十八年我在台中逢甲學院任教，
有天上午，我正在上課，一位老師跑到我的教室上氣不接下氣的說：
劉老師快來，主任中風了；我立刻跑到三樓，看到陳幅添主任，
氣色不正，語意模糊，嘴也歪了，很明顯的是中風了。

立即請工讀生到校門外的西藥房，買來一支注射用的針頭，
就在陳主任十個手指頭上直刺。
等十個手指尖兒都見血了（豆粒似的一滴），
大約幾分鐘以後，陳主任的氣色就變過來了，
兩眼也有神了，只有嘴還歪著，我就拉搓他的耳朵，
使之充血，等把耳朵拉紅，就在左右耳垂之處，
各刺兩針，待兩耳垂都流出兩滴血來，奇蹟就出現了，
大約不到三五分鐘，他的嘴形，恢復正常了，說話也清清楚楚了。
讓他靜坐一陣子，喝了一杯熱茶，才扶他下樓，
開車送到惠華醫院，打一罐點滴，休息了一夜，
第二天就出院回學校上課了。
一切照常工作，毫無後遺症。

反觀一般腦中風患者，
都是送醫院治療時，經過一路震盪血管急速破裂，
以致多數患者一病不起，所以腦中風，在死因排行榜上高居第二位，
其最幸運者，也僅能保住老命，而落得終身殘廢。

這是一個多麼可怕的病症。如果大家都能記住這（放血救命)的方法，
立刻施救，在短短時間它能起死回生，
而且保證百分之百的正常。
這個急救法，希望大家告訴大家。
那腦中風，在死因排行榜上，就可以除名了。

Today, I said good-bye to a tree which was by the front of my house. It kept us in companion for 10 years. I don't like to chop down trees, I did that as I wanted to change to other type of tree. Though its flowers were multicolored, it was thorny all over the body, and added to that, the flowers shed were messy, as such, it was hard to maintain.

PART 1

The time for evangelism is here!

The media is in a frenzy over Michael Jackson's death. Every day it bombards us with news on him. His idiosyncracies are legendary, if not somewhat bizarre, and as the opportunistic media unravels more shocking news, the world will be kept entertained for a long time. And we may find opportunities to share better news about Jesus.

Michael Jackson's legacy is the warning there is a way that seems right but leads only to death.

Today the news, though unconfirmed, tell us at least twelve people have committed suicide on learning of Michael Jackson's death. Russian MJ impersonator, Palel Talalayev who was found with wrists cut said, " "I don't know why the doctors saved me. I want to be with Michael, and I will kill myself anyway, " he added. How tragic.

So the Reverend Jesse Jackson appeared on Youtube and appealed: " "It made Michael happy saying 'We Are The World'. Don't self destruct. We fall down sometimes, we get back up. That's the right thing to do. In Michael's name let's live together as brothers and sisters and not die apart as fools," said Jackson.

Well, Jesse, you've got a point, but people need to hear the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The brotherhood of man in Michael's name is as safe as the Tower of Babel. But I say in Jesus' name let us tell the world there is a way that seems right but only leads to death but only in Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.

A cyber friend, Dr Lim, also Christian missions trainer, and fledgling painter, splitting his time between Singapore and Ireland wrote:

"Share the good news where ever we are:
Can do it one on one,
can teach a large group if there is opportunity for such.
Multiplication can be achieved by training others to be trainers....."

This Christian brother is active and fruitful and now has a passion to paint and puts meaningful text on his paintings. And he passes them around that others may benefit. What a positive life.

Every human idol is made of straw. Jesus is the true Rock of Salvation.

God shatters the world's confidence in the gods they erect. The devil wants to populate the lake of fire where he himself will be punished and we need to get alarmed and active to "snatch others from the fire" as Jude exhorts.

We need to be like Shamgar and use all we have even if it is not much and in his case a mere oxgoad to be productive.

We must be wary that while there is a flurry of impressive activity it must be like in the days when souls were "added to the church daily those who were saved." In fact today in Christian circles I hardly hear talk of 'soulsaving' or 'leading people to Christ' and when was the last time you heard a sermon on the 'lake of fire' or such concern?

Have we lost the plot?

PART 2

Michael Jackson as a young pop prodigy once sang,

"You and I must make a pact
We must bring salvation back
Where there is love, I'll be there"

Ironically and tragically, he was not able to save himself.

Idols desperately need salvation like a lot of their fans and we should not be afraid to reach out to them.

Rich and famous people are often lonely and confused. They don't know if someone is genuine or has some ulterior motive. They often believe in their own invincibility. But deep down they need love and affirmation like everyone else. We must never be afraid to reach out to those people.

The Bible says, 'The fear of man brings a snare but he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted.' Let us remember that we are sons and daughters of God Most High. It is our lack of faith and intimate relationship with God that constrains us from taking our 'royal' role seriously and speaking out boldly for God.

Audacity should be our middle name. I learned to be thick-skinned for Jesus early in my Christian life while out evangelising. Sometimes our Christian comrades may not understand. King David was audacious. His brothers chided him but because of his audacity Goliath died. We need to be audacious because God will fulfill our acts "prompted by our faith" because faith enables us to walk on water and slay the giants railing against God.

Many Christians I know short-sell themselves. They are limited by fear and what people will think of them if they did something different. But the man of faith is thick-skinned and will launch out in faith in exploits for God. They don't confine themselves in the comfort zone.

I am reading an old Readers Digest compilation of the lives of great men and women who changed history. Many are not Christian. So how much more we who have God with us should like William Carey, "attempt great things for God and expect great things from him." Their lives ought to inspire us to achieve exploits for God. Sadly there is a negative strain of thought among Christians that human achievements are futile so they live with mediocrity.

The truth is the devil whispers lies in our ears and gives us a million reasons why we can't or shan't do something for God. But we are to call his bluff and break off our bonds of fear and inertia. "I can do all things in Christ," Paul said, and I believe all of us can do something significant for God in the time we still have. "Greater things you shall do," Jesus said, and I believe him.

PART 3

Just do it!

When in 2000 I was doing a preaching circuit with Dr Ethel Nelson, the American author who wrote about the Chinese characters and their link to Genesis, I tried to see Singapore's former PM Lee K Yew, but his personal assistant told me he was overseas. He is a Confucius scholar and I thought it'd be a good idea to talk to him about what Confucious said about Jesus. In Penang we visited the largest Thai Buddhist temple and gave some Christian books to the Chief Abbot, and had a good conversation with him about Jesus.

When Michael Jackson came to Perth during his History world tour some years ago, tweny of us went outside the Perth Dome where he performed, to distribute a tract I had written called Michael Jackson, God and You. A pastor typed the tract for me and another arranged for its printing. And we went out to evangelise together. The Gospel was presented in a carefully crafted message. We distributed thousands of tracts until a security personnel representing MJ told us to move along, which we did - to a better spot. And I told him to pass on the tract to Michael Jackson.

Inside the Dome while waiting for MJ to perform, I saw thousands of people reading the simple yellow-coloured tract we had given out. When MJ performed he was terrific, and no one should doubt his genius at what he does. But almost in a flash I made a poignant observation. There was a scene where MJ appeared in some weird costume and I got the distinct impression, almost like a revelation from God that his countenance was like one of a Hindu deity!

Is it any wonder that MJ's album Thriller is among the highest sold music albums in history, if not the highest? Who is the father of fear in the world? Who does not feel fear when watching the video of MJ portrayed as some weird werewolf- like creature? Fear is the opposite of faith. It wasn't Michael's idea but he became the tool and even the most innocent people can become unwitting channels of evil.

George Harrison introduced the Beatles to Hinduism. He died a Hindu. And his favourite saying? "Love one another." The Beatles popularized Hinduism which merged into the Hippie and pop counter-culture of the late 60's and 70's readily.

This ancient religion is the Mother of Religions that will surely spread its tentacles in various forms to entice the world. In Perth the biggest and most expensive home in all of Australia is being built by a wealthy Hindu Indian couple who unashamedly spread their faith and will no doubt use their abode as a centre of influence. It is a few doors away from the Perth home of the previous Malaysian prime minister.

I once heard an American Baptist pastor's tape of a demon-possessed man boasting that the devil will use pop music to lead a whole generation astray. It has happened! But that does not mean pop music is evil because God is smarter and so should we be. God is always in control and his purpose cannot be thwarted. But he figures us in his plan.

Jesus warns that even the elect can be misled. It behooves us therefore to always be vigilant and to guard our hearts and minds against the people and things of the world that endear them to us. Michael Jackson's music is alluring, sensuous and grips the soul, and because of his complex persona, has old and young among his fans. The enemy of God often uses exceptional people to lead people away from God. They can even masquerade as 'angels of light' and false messiahs!

When the late Francis Schaeffer wrote of the counter-culture in the 60's and 70's the culture was still Christian in the West. But today it is tragically secular, even anti-Christian. So the counter-culture for us today may well be being Christian and against the culture of political correctness. History has gone full circle and we may well be today's counter-culturalists! Generations of Australians have never read the Bible or know the Gospel.

FINALLY

Let us make use of the opportunity of Michael Jackson's death to draw people into a conversation about the true meaning and purpose of life that he never discovered. This is more constructive than cynicism. We ought not to judge him for his failings, that God will surely do, but we can pray for his family and fans that many will come to know Jesus Christ.

Pray that God will turn many hearts to Jesus and that he will open their eyes to the truth. In John Chapter 17 we see how Jesus prayed for the world that they might know him through his disciples.

Let us pray that God will lead us to prepared hearts to share the Gospel with them and explain to them that Jesus Christ is the Lord of History and that Michael Jackson talented as he was, was nothing more than a frail and needy human being, even if he was the King of Pop. A king of straw!

The god of pop needed Jesus and so do we all and a world of unsaved souls.

Pray that many will come to know the King of kings and God will turn many hearts to himself. Some of us have children and young friends who like Michael Jackson. We should talk to them and counsel them and let them know that we all need to trust in God. And that if Michael Jackson had glorified God instead of himself, he might still be alive today.

Nevertheless our prayers are for the living and in humility we must pray for a very needy world. The organisers' website saw 500 million hits from people who want to attend a free memorial concert. That if true is astounding and I hope we will find creative ways to reach the unsaved.

PRAY for revival and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon God's people everywhere that they may have the passion to preach the Gospel in bold, creative, and consistent ways to the unsaved.

How soon will America have a female president?

The prophecy is soon fulfilled. A well respected late pastor in America once prophesied that America will have a female president. And she will be the last president of America.

Palin resignation ignites 2012 speculation

WASILLA, Alaska - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's surprise announcement on Friday that she's stepping down from the post at the end of this month has set off a storm of speculation about her next political move.

Supporters and critics alike say the former GOP vice presidential candidate's resignation as governor is an inexplicable move for a high profile Republican widely seen as a contender for a White House run in 2012.

Palin's abrupt announcement rattled the Republican Party but left open the possibility of a presidential run. She and her staff are keeping mum on her future plans.

Palin's spokesman, David Murrow, said the governor didn't say anything to him about this being her "political finale."

"She's looking forward to serving the public outside the governor's chair," he said.

And Pam Pryor, a spokeswoman for Palin's political action committee, said the group continues to accept donations on its Web site, which saw an uptick in contributions Friday afternoon.

The announcement caught even current and former Palin advisers by surprise. Former members of Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign team, now dispersed across the country, traded perplexed e-mails and phone calls about the vice presidential nominee's decision to step down.

In a hastily arranged news conference at her home in Wasilla, a suburb of Anchorage, Palin said she had decided against running for re-election as Alaska's governor, and believed it was best to leave office even though she had 1.5 years left to her term. Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will take her place.

"Many just accept that lame duck status, and they hit that road," Palin said. "They draw a paycheck. They kind of milk it. And I'm not going to put Alaskans through that."

Meghan Stapleton, Palin's personal spokeswoman, shot down speculation that ranged wildly from Palin dropping out of politics altogether to eyeing runs against fellow Alaska Republicans Rep. Don Young and Sen. Lisa Murkowski. Palin's comment about serving outside government refers to the present, she said.

Stapleton, however, said it's too early to say whether Palin would seek the presidency. In the meantime, the governor will continue to work to bring "positive change as a citizen without a title right now," she said.

"Her vision is what's best for Alaska, which translates into what's best for America," Stapleton said.

At the news conference, Palin alluded to how she could help change the country and help military members - an indication that she didn't think her time on the national stage was over.

Palin's decision not to seek re-election is a familiar one for those considering a presidential campaign. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney chose not to seek another term as he geared up for an unsuccessful 2008 presidential bid. Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty has announced he won't seek another term, giving him plenty of free time ahead of a potential 2012 bid. But Romney completed his term and Pawlenty plans to finish his.

Palin, 45, also has the potential to make far more money in the private sector than the $125,000 or so she has been making as governor. She already had a deal with publisher HarperCollins to produce her memoirs, with publication planned for next spring. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Six-figure book deals are common for high-profile political figures.

Pro-family leader, Gary Bauer, says he's not surprised that some liberal commentators are describing Palin's sudden resignation as political suicide. He says the liberals are gloating believing they have kocked off another conservative leader.

But Bauer says while the Left's attacks against Palin have been savage enough to drive almost anyone from office, he doesn't believe she is running from a fight. According to Bauer, the resignation frees Palin up to campaign in the lower 48 states, build a top notch political organization and improve her issue development work. " In six months," Bauer says, " we will know whether the gamble worked, but I for one am hoping it does."

Another possible GOP contender for the White House in 2012, Mitt Romney, issued a statement Friday wishing Palin and her family well. He said "I know she will continue to be a strong voice in the Republican Party."

我赞成吉打行动党退出吉打民联，因为行动党必须现在开始一直要向民联传达一个声音，就是为了利民的政策，行动党是不会妥协的。回教党在吉打一党独大，根本不必靠行动党和公正党都可以任意妄为的。

回教党一意孤行铲平州内有30年历史及唯一的宰猪场，可见一旦回教党能够掌权中央的话，非回教徒的利益都一一地从国家消失。回教党又想跟巫统组织联合政府，搞什么马来人大团结的东西，可见回教党一直只是利用民联阵线作为隐藏意图的踏脚石。

行动党必须给回教党和公正党传达一个信息，即你们如果只是想利用我们，我们宁愿不要执政中央，但我也不让你们入主中央，大家永远都作在野党。

巫统51年都不晓得华人对“猪”的课题很敏感的，到今天莱士雅丁还玩弄此课题，硬硬要把A型H1N1流感称为猪流感，简直就是政治自杀。所以，任何政党要关闭养猪场而没替代安排的政策都没好死的。

行动党这样以“退出”的政策与民联合作是值得人民赞赏的，因为这样是为了正义有骨气。看看马华，过去51年只是通过内部协商，结果呢？华裔的利益都被巫统否定。人民现在对政治应该醒悟了，尤其是华印裔，我们不要林敬益所形容的作乞丐向巫统讨吃。甚至回教党都受到巫统欺侮，为何回教党不能醒悟？

我鼓励吉打马华的一国一州议员也退出吉打国阵以示支持养猪业。

ALOR SETAR: The state DAP has decided to quit the Pakatan Rakyat citing “undelivered promises” by the Kedah government as one of the reasons.

The PAS-led state government was also accused of not giving equal treatment to all Kedahans.

State DAP chairman Thomas Su said the decision was made via a resolution yesterday, adding he would inform the DAP headquarters of it.

“This is our (Kedah DAP’s) decision. The final decision will be made by our national leaders,” he told reporters after witnessing the demolition of an illegal pig slaughterhouse by the Alor Setar City Council in Kampung Berjaya in Jalan Putra here yesterday.

The demolition of the slaughterhouse was another reason which had prompted the state DAP to quit the pact.

Su said the state DAP, which holds one seat in Kedah’s 36-seat legislature, was upset over the incident, accusing the state government of not handling the matter properly.

“Although the slaughterhouse was operating on land belonging to the Alor Setar City Council, the state government has the power to postpone the demolition. This will give more time for the Kedah Pig Traders and Slaughterer Association which operates the slaughterhouse to find a new site,” he said.

Mayor Datuk Khazali Din was quoted as saying recently that the abattoir had been erected illegally on the site for the past 30 years.

The council had ordered the association to vacate the place several times since 1995 with the latest in May this year.

At the Parliament lobby, Pakatan leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the pact’s leadership would discuss the matter today.

DAP Seputeh MP Teresa Kok said the Kedah DAP’s decision was “an act of frustration” as the state government had a number of unresolved issues in the past year.

“DAP has only one seat in Kedah. Many non-Malays come to them for help. Many of these issues are sensitive as well,” she said.

This was another example of insensitivity of the Malays about livelihood of Chinese. Swines are a major food to the Chinese. Anything touching on the issue will face backlash. Look at Rais Yatim who was so stubborn that the A-type H1N1 Influenza be called Swine Influenza. He was not sensitive to the feeling of Chinese. So now you wonder why the Chinese don't support BN?

DAP was right in the sense that it conveys a message through quitting. This is not similar with MCA. MCA always made the excuse that it will negotiate within BN spirit. But at the end of the day the results were negative.

If MCA wanted to regain the support of Chinese, I urge the one MP and one State Assemblyman of Kedah MCA to quit BN as a suppor for sustaining the swine industry.

Same-sex 'marriage' loses support among Americans

It is a piece of good news. The Holy Spirit is bringing revival to USA. When Americans walk in the fear of God, they will prosper again.

A recent poll indicates that Americans are not as supportive of homosexual "marriage" as they once were.

A CBS-New York Times survey shows that support for redefining marriage to include same-gender couples has declined. Jenny Tyree of Focus on the Family Action tells OneNewsNow that, according to The New York Times, the figure dropped slightly -- but she believes nine percentage points is more than slightly.

"I think that this really digs into what Americans really feel about marriage -- that they like that [marriage is] defined between a man and a woman," she contends. "And also it's a bit of a backlash against the five states whose legislative bodies have redefined marriage very recently within the last several months."

Part of the drop may also relate to the continuing battle to defeat California's Proposition 8, she says, in which voters defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

"I think Americans really saw the intolerance that occurred after the Proposition 8 vote back in November," she recalls. "They saw that many who want to redefine marriage were not happy with really what the people decide, and what the people decided in California was to continue to define marriage the way it has been defined."

After the election, several lawsuits were filed to try to overturn the voters' decision. Another federal lawsuit challenging it was filed just last week. Tyree believes the poll also sends a strong message to the White House, which has stated as a goal to repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

印尼宣布不允许它们的女性来马来西亚当女佣，依赖惯女佣的国人一时彷徨无助，设法解决“空缺”。以前曾经辩论过关于引进中国女子来我国当女佣的课题，这回各阶层人士再次争论不休。妇女组织反对这政策，同时朝野政党女性代议士也同声一气地反对，此朝野“合作”的情形在我国实在少见！

关于此课题，我询问了一位嫁来我国的中国朋友之看法，她认为中国人不会来
的。什么理由让她如此定断呢？她说：“女佣获得这么少工资，中国人有一句话说「笑贫不笑娼」嘛，她们宁愿做不三不四的工作也不会当女佣的。”她这番话真的一言惊醒梦中人！我思考她说的话，激发我对中国龙女在我国的一些遭遇之看法。

有理，区区500令吉的女佣工资，倒不如留在中国，何须离乡背井挣皮毛般的收入？过去发生在我国的例子，中国人被骗子游说可以在我国挖金，每个月最少两千马币。结果来到，有的做劳工，有的不兴而归，而女的被逼当应召女郎。在过去警方袭击风月场所，逮捕不少的中国龙女。并且国人听到“某某地方有中国龙女服务”的这番话是很平常的。

我不赞成引进中国女佣，一来这对我国华裔不光彩，中国女子何竟要在别人面
前让人看不起？要申请中国人来工作，引进中国老师才让我国华人光彩呢！二来她们在华裔的家庭，基于大家是华人，男主人与她们动情的机会比与其他国家的女佣更大。我不介意被许多男人骂，男家主与印尼女佣偷情的个案其实不少（华裔的弊病就是家丑不宜外扬），那么同种族的中国女佣将发生更多这类事。三来许多中国人偷偷潜入我国淘金，她们是否会通过当合法女佣来逃走，在外面风月场所做工呢？那是一个未知数。

确实中国龙女滥用签证在我国进行不道德活动，令我感到穷人的哀歌真的唱不完。试问如果她们在家乡生活好，何须离乡背井做这些对人欢笑背人愁的工呢？目前全世界都知道中国的经济增长是全世界最高的。中国越来越富有，但仍然有这么多穷人没获得照顾，出尽法宝往外国跳飞机，中国政府不知有何感想？曾经在4年前美国不是控诉中国没有好好地照顾自己的国民，以致出现这类中国人跳飞机的浪潮吗？

要解决淫业，先解决贫穷

到底中国人的观念里，他们是骂娼抑或是颂娼呢？答案是很矛盾的。首先请问
是谁供养这些妓女的呢？就是那些玩世不恭的男性，这些人是骂娼还是颂娼的？这不言而喻！其次请问是谁在当妓女的呢？大家都认定是贫穷人家的女子！那么她们的父母知道后是否会骂她们？正常的父母都会责骂并会感到羞耻，因为女儿是靠着牺牲色相来养活家人。

一些国家曾经有人对多名妓女作个调查，得到的数据显示大部分人是为了生计。所以，一日贫穷问题不获得解决，就一日仍然会有不道德的行业在我们的左右的。中国人并非真的“笑贫不笑娼”，乃是穷人家在逼不得已的情形下走上娼妓之路。一旦她们走上这条路，便是痛苦，疾病和心灵受损的开始。它续而引发更多社会和家庭问题，这对一个国家的发展打击威胁不轻呢！所以，有道德意识的国家领袖和社会人士，务要致力于解决贫穷的问题，也当灌输给那些有金钱需要的女性正面地去学习爱护自己身体。
