        首先,经过了几年的合作,为什么还用“Pakatan(联盟)”,而不用“Barisan(阵线)”呢?

Pakatan's death announced, DAP seeks new allies

12:39PM Jun 16, 2015

Penang chief minister and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today announced that Pakatan Rakyat has met its demise.

"The DAP central executive committee (last night) accepts the PAS muktamar's motion to sever ties with DAP and effectively, that Pakatan ceases to exist.

"As Pakatan was formed by the three parties based on consensus and bound by the common policy framework, the PAS muktamar's motion effectively killed off Pakatan.

"Pakatan therefore ceases to exist," he added in a media statement.

Lim said DAP will work with PKR and other forces who aspire to see the end of Umno and BN's one-party rule to reshape and realign Malaysian politics with the aim of winning Putrajaya for the people.
"DAP will work towards a broad based and principled new coalition that shall emerge to fill the political vacuum that can rekindle hopes of change to realise our Malaysian dream for a better future for all,"
he added.

As for the Selangor state government, he said DAP will support for the leadership of Selangor Menteri Besar Mohd Azmin Ali to re-frame the state government with  a new functioning coalition.

This, he added, must be based on the common policy and the Selangor GE 2013 election manifesto that received an overwhelming mandate of more than 60% of the popular vote.

Hadi caused Pakatan paralysis

Delving into history, Lim said Pakatan was formed on April 1, 2008 as a joint response by DAP, PKR and PAS to the deep yearning for political change by Malaysian voters following the political tsunami of the 12th GE in 2008.

"With the massive support from Malaysians, the opposition won more than one-thirds of parliamentary seats and five state governments.

"The leaders of DAP, PKR and PAS agreed to form Pakatan with a set of shared principles in the hope of uniting all anti-Umno/BN forces to bring forth a new era of politics and governance of integrity, accountability and democracy in a progressive Malaysia.

"It was agreed then that decision making in Pakatan would be based on consensus and mutual trust at the leadership council.

"The coalition was not meant to be a coalition of convenience but one that is guided by ideas, principles and ideals for a new Malaysia," he added.

However, Lim said in several major incidents over the past year, including the Selangor menteri besar crisis, decisions agreed upon by the leadership council was violated by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

This, he added, resulted in near-paralysis of the coalition.

He said the situation was exacerbated by Hadi’s willingness to forge a unity government with Umno and his support for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak despite the 1MDB imbroglio.

"The breach of promise made personally by Hadi at the leadership council on Feb 10 to discuss the hudud laws proposed by PAS first with Pakatan partners before being tabled to the Kelantan state assembly or a private motion by Hadi in Parliament further immobilised the entire leadership council.

"This breach of promise by Hadi was followed by the momentous decision on June 6, when the PAS muktamar, the general assembly and the highest authority of the party, accepted without debate a motion to sever ties with DAP," he added.

PAS, do you know what is "once bitten, twice shy"?

4:00PM Jun 9, 2015
By Allen Tan

Source of pic: http://www.bharian.com.my/node/41303

PAS, I am so sorry that you may not gain the trust from the non-Muslims, especially from me, again. You have voted to sever relationship with DAP without a debate. You played this game so that all the conservative leaders were voted into the top leadership.

Why were those conservatives so afraid of debate? Because you know the more you debate, the more truth would be seen. For a party which embraces extreme Islam, democracy is seen as a White People’s game!

For the past seven years since the 12th general election (GE) in 2008, your behaviour within Pakatan Rakyat was rather dubious, as you have not given up the hudud agenda completely. True enough, this year you have submitted a private member’s bill to Parliament to seek approval for hudud in Kelantan.

In fact, your ambition to implement hudud is not confined to a single state. You hoped to spread it like wildfire to all states. You even hoped to make Malaysia an Islamic state by forming a unity government with Umno.

PAS made a blunder by wrongly interpreting the last two GE results. Firstly, PAS did worse in the Parliament seats in the 13th GE than the previous one. So they thought they must be more Islamic in order to gain better Muslim support.

Secondly, PAS had gained more non-Muslim support from in the last two GEs, so they took for granted that the latter had no problems with hudud. They tried to test the ground by pressing for the hudud agenda more vigorously. And the result - a disaster! It backfired! Such a foolish move is likened to one hitting one’s own foot with a stone.

It was not Pakatan which betrayed PAS but rather the reverse. DAP criticised PAS out of principle. PAS passed the motion to sever relationship with DAP like it was child’s play. Now PAS is still considering whether to uphold the motion which was passed. PAS, do you know what is ‘once bitten, twice shy?’ It was not only DAP which was hurt, but entire non-Muslims who voted for PAS!

Now, what would I think the next move for Pakatan should be? Either PAS or DAP must leave Pakatan. The coalition could never remain status quo. Because you will never know what PAS would do if Pakatan were to win the next GE. PAS would likely join BN and the latter would rule again. Therefore, a status quo Pakatan will see defeat, because where PAS candidates are, non-Muslims will not vote for them.

MCA and Gerakan will increase their attack on Pakatan over hudud, too.

Abolish the name of ‘Pakatan Rakyat’

As such, I would suggest DAP and PKR to cooperate again, and let there be a new party, say PasMa, to join up together with them. The name of ‘Pakatan Rakyat’ must be abolished in order to kick out PAS, and a new name be replaced. It must be done immediately so that all the voters must get familiarised with the new PasMa party logo.

However, I have a little bit of concern, that is, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) could be a stumbling block. It would delay PasMa’s approval until the last minute. For example, even at this moment, DAP is still in trouble with ROS over which it has yet to receive an official letter from ROS to recognise its party election results which took place several years ago. Could ROS play up with DAP again before GE14?

Malaysia is definitely in need of intervention from God. Let us continue to pray so that Malaysia will move in God’s direction. We need to have a strong opposition coalition to directly fight with BN in GE14. We need to have more people irrespective of race and religion who are righteous to join DAP, PKR and PasMa, since our electoral system is not free and fair. We bless Malaysia and pray that a new Malaysia will rise up which will be a blessing to the nations!

Be the PM for all, not just Barisan supporters, Najib told

Najib has received flak for his comment in a speech at the MCA general assembly that the Chinese community can make demands only if they support Barisan Nasional. - The Malaysian Insider pic by Najjua Zulkefli, October 12, 2014.

Opposition politicians and academics alike have poured scorn on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak for saying that the Chinese community cannot make demands from the government unless they supported Barisan Nasional (BN).
They said that as the prime minister of a country, Najib had to represent all Malaysians and listen to the demands of all, and not just those who voted in his party.
“Does Najib not realise that the main concept of democracy is to allow the people to choose during the general election? The right and freedom to choose a party and candidate is something that cannot be questioned in a democracy,” DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke said today.
“Thus, it is the responsibility of the party that forms the government after the election to administer the country and serve all the rakyat without any vengeance towards those who did not support them.”
The Seremban MP added that more than half of Malaysian voters (52%) had rejected BN in the general election, and those who supported Pakatan Rakyat cut across all races.
“If the people cannot make demands from the government, will these 52% be exempted from paying any taxes, including the goods and services tax?” he asked.
PKR vice-president Tian Chua described Najib’s speech today as a huge blunder and unbecoming of a prime minister.
“He forgot that he used to announce very proudly ‘I will be the prime minister for all’. Now he’s talking about being a partisan prime minister.
“It is very unbecoming of a prime minister. I hope he will retract his statement and carry out his responsibility as a prime minister for all people,” said the Batu MP.
Providing services without collecting taxes is charity. And collecting taxes without providing services is robbery. - Dr Wong Chin Huat
Earlier this morning, Najib said that the Chinese could not make demands on BN if they continued to support Pakatan Rakyat.
Speaking at the MCA’s 61st annual general assembly, Najib said BN would only be fair to the Chinese if they supported the ruling coalition instead of PR.
“I’d like to do more, maybe one day I can do more. But I also need the Chinese community to support BN. Come on. You have to do your part.
“You can’t demand and then support DAP. You can’t demand and then support PR. You demand, you support BN, we will be fair to the Chinese,” said Najib.
Dr Wong Chin Huat, a fellow at the Penang Institute, said that Najib’s statement revealed that he saw himself as a prime minister for only 47% Malaysians.
“If any community or individual has to forfeit their right to make legitimate demands from the government, then they should forfeit their duty of paying tax.
“After all, being government is about collecting taxes and providing services. Providing services without collecting taxes is charity. And collecting taxes without providing services is robbery,” said Wong.
Dr Lim Teck Ghee of the Centre for Policy Initiatives (CPI) said that Najib had apparently not learned from his past mistakes in making such “crude” statements.
“He has continuously put out this line to the Chinese, and it’s never worked. He may actually be doing the MCA a disfavour by putting it so crudely that if you don’t vote for us, we aren’t going to take care of you.
“Threatening voters in the country like that smacks of political blackmail. Worse, he’s doing it in front of a national audience, not just in a ceramah. It’s likely to backfire.
“Najib must realise that he surely wants to be prime minister for all Malaysians, not just the ones who vote for BN and Umno. So this kind of message he came out with really goes against the fact that he is the prime minister of the country, of all Malaysians.”
In the general election last year, MCA suffered its worst defeat, winning only seven out of the 37 parliamentary seats and 11 of the 90 state seats it contested.
The May 5 poll results prompted Najib to describe it as a “Chinese tsunami” that night, and Umno-owned newspaper Utusan Malaysia ran the headline “Apa lagi Cina Mahu?” (What more do the Chinese want?) on its front page the following day. – October 12, 2014.

Dr Mahathir’s criticism not about Umno, but Putrajaya

Published: 30 August 2014
COMMENTARY BY THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER
Datuk Seri Najib Razak is dead wrong. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's stinging criticism against him two weeks ago and withdrawal of support for the prime minister is not an Umno matter, in the same way that corruption and vote-buying by Umno senior officials is not some quaint concept called money politics that should be dealt in-house.
The former prime minister's laundry list of complaints against Najib goes right to the core of governance of a country.
It has nothing to do with whether young talent is being allowed to flourish in feudal Umno, or whether the divisions have been conducting their annual meetings as required.
Dr Mahathir's criticism goes right to the heart of being a leader of Malaysia. In his view, the prime minister is weak, servile and blind to issues in the heart of most Malaysians.
For example, he says that Najib's manner of dishing out cash payments under the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) scheme only provides temporary relief but creates a dangerous culture of entitlement.
And, Dr Mahathir also points out that race and religious relations are at dangerous levels in Malaysia, and blames Najib's policies and inaction for this desperate state of affairs.
There is some irony here as Dr Mahathir is the patron of the Malay rights group Perkasa, which mushroomed after the 2008 elections and now flourishes with provocative racial rants under the Najib administration.
Then, there is the famous complaint about the administration allegedly being in the servitude of foreign governments and being prepared to sign a trade agreement not favourable to Malaysia.
These are serious allegations as they involve the well-being of the country, not a political party.
So, it is best the PM disabuse himself of this notion that the Dr Mahathir attack is some Umno matter. Malaysia is not Umno and Umno is not Malaysia.
Just saying, "We view this as an internal party matter and it will be dealt with accordingly and in the best possible way", will not take the sting out of Dr Mahathir's comments.
Najib and his government will have to address each point openly and not sweep it under the carpet as an internal party matter. After all, Dr Mahathir founded this new Umno, and knows better whether his criticism is about the party or the government.
This is not about Umno, or Dr Mahathir would have just quit the party again. This is about Malaysia. – August 30, 2014.

The Dr Maharthir vs Najib match is not over

11:15AM Aug 30, 2014

By JD Lovrenciear

The country is still reeling in and over Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s public expression that he is withdrawing his support for the number one leader of the nation.

Secondly, Mahathir’s public criticism over Najib Abdul Razak’s leadership is drawing in all kinds of interpretations that only go to demonstrate that this match-of-our-times is not over - even if the main stream media blanks out the news.

Now, Prime Minister Najib’s recent and first public responseto Mahathir’s assault is also seemingly not believable when he tried to douse the arrowed sparks by saying it is an internal party matter.

There are two issues here and the issues do not negate each other. How could our politicians be so naïve as to think that the citizens are not wary?

The key issue that makes Mahathir’s public outcry through his new-media weapon of political warfare is the fact that he was withdrawing his support for Najib. Leave aside the rationale behind that stance. The point that gawks is the implications.

Mahathir was withdrawing his support for the number one nation-driver. Najib is more than an Umno leader. He is the prime minister of Malaysia’s 28 million people here and is so, too, seen as such all across the globe.

Suppose a leader or even a former top leader of the opposition bloc said the same. What would be the national stand? What would the Barisan National that is the government in power do? One can only imagine the magnitude of the reverberations.

So for Najib to meekly dismiss Mahathir’s public outcry against him as merely an internal party matter only paints a more questioning picture. The public perception that is, as a result, being fuelled is that all things are certainly then not well within Umno the pack leader of BN.

Unfortunately some politicians have scurried to harp that Mahathir was only criticising. Never mind about the fact that that criticism was against the nation’s number one leader and a public stance made also for the magnifying lens of global opinion.

How do we now deal with this national shame? There is reputation and serious collateral damage here, folks!

Suppose Najib is a written-off failure, then can the people take to the streets to rally behind Mahathir to save the nation from further doom?

Suppose Najib is still endorsed as a capable leader, do the citizens then scream for Mahathir’s neck to rescue the nation from shame and disgrace?

Three monkeys stance?

Or shall we take the position of the proverbial three-monkeys stance: see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil as we pray that the tide will flow by the bridge and soon be forgotten? At least, we Malaysians have a track record for such benignness, let us face it.

No. Something is seriously not right and Malaysians must take personal and collective accountability for all such failures. Otherwise we will all end up as in the story of the sorry frogs in a slow cooking pot of water, i..e we do not even know we are in trouble, serious trouble until it is too late to realise and save the nation.

In short, this is not an internal party problem. It is not even one man against another. It is far beyond speculation that Mahathir is never happy with anyone unless we get a Mahathir-clone to be PM. It is beyond a criticism. It is not a simplistic case of personal opinion - not even one of merely withdrawing support.

Why the Migration Business in Malaysia is Booming?
